i would suggest the gws nicad charger. charges up to around 6 amps with anything up to 3 amps super fast charge.
bout 75 but worth it i reckon _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

Ah, bugger the Omni and the GWS, get a Triton! Worth the expence
How about you bought a few extra 18v drills and charged all the drill packs up and you just change them between battles and you can have one charging, one in the bot and one ready to go in the bot. _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/
Well if you want some spare batteries i have xu1 cells lying around just tell me the voltage and the sahpe and i'll make you as many as i can. _________________ Steven Martin

Thank you all for that.
Marauder has four drill batteries. I have tried to charge them between fights at Andrews house at Kilkivan but, for some unknown reason, the charger never works there.
I would like to buy some better nicad packs eventually. Sanyo 2400cr sounds good to me. I have also considered upgrading to the Panasonic 12 v drills. They come with two 3Ah nickel metal hydride batteries each. Panasonic make good batteries. These drills are quite expensive though (about $500 each).
I have never tried the XU1 s so I can not compare the two. The Ozito drills have lasted well over a year. They use Johnson motors. Marauder has quite grippy RC wheels that would increase the starting and stopping forces that are transfered back into the gearbox. The gearboxes have also copped the resultant forces from flippping other robots. Ozitos are available at Bunnings for about $80.
The ability to split Marauder into two sections also helps in the accessability to parts for repairs or tracing faults.

If you join the group battery order Philip, you can get some Sanyo CP2400SCR's with Glen, Wayde, Welch and I for around $4.24 per cell., or roughly $42.40 per 12v battery pack
If you looking for some good NiMH 18v Drill packs, get onto www.ebay.com.au and do a quick search for 'Dewalt' and you'll find some 18v 2200mAh-3000mAh NiMH for under $80 each.
I hope the flipping arm survives on Marauder, will be a shame to see it bend or break like M2 _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/
That could happen but most drill chargers take a few hours at least to charge batteries you couldn't charge one between a battle. I wonder if you hooked more than one charger up to the same battery whether it would charge faster? _________________ Steven Martin

Marauder has just had a large amount of cash spent on it. It will have to wait for any more.

Marauder is now held together with two wing nuts. The wiring has been tested. I just need to fill the gas bottle and test the gas side of things and I am ready for MM5.

Be kind. Actually, I think that it will bend.
Marauder has been designed to make an exciting attack (hopefully) rather than a damaging one. I have come across a few ideas while researching the flipper that could build a damaging weapon. One of these, I believe, could defeat all other robots. It will take some more time to fully develope. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems
