I was talking to dad about it and he suggested drill through both and insert one of those pins that is sortof a C-shaped cross section with a rounded end made of spring steel that contract as you force them into the hole and then expand out, gripping the hole and therefore wont slide out and don't require tapping or retaining in any way that would interfere with the gears meshing, seems like the easiest fix

I don't know how well that'll run true and will it solve your spinning pinion problem totally? _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets

As long as the motor shaft and the pinion bore match, everything will run true. Just remember that those roll pins has a lower shear strength; you might want a few spares just in case. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

Can't see it being an issue, It's doing a job mechanically that epoxy did chemically and successfully for half of two separate events Ill use the biggest one I can get away with. Will get spares tho yeah _________________ <Patrician|Away> what does your robot do, sam
