I thought your budget was $300+?
Anyway go with the wedge labelled B, if its not too hard to make, in your drawing. the shallower angle at the leading edge will help you get under things, and the steeper angle at the top will help push them around once you get them wedged.
Also don't bother with the spikes unless they're jsut for show.
Otherwise looking good I presume because you bought 5x motors you're going to drive 4 wheels, and very good idea that you got a spare also, you'll need it soon enough
Hobbyking is also good for wheels _________________ <Patrician|Away> what does your robot do, sam

You will probably have a bit of a wait for any HobbyKing orders now as it is getting close to Chinese new year. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

the spikes will be made by using a bolt and nut to fasten to base than sharpen the ends

Great to see a new beetle in the works.....
Yeah spikes looks cool...but for fighting robots they actually wont do any damage...but worse than that they make it easier for spinners to get grip and knock you around.
Thats why you don't see many bots with spikes unless its on the end of a pneumatic hammer or something that tries to pierce the top of other bots.
Good luck with the robot, and keep them progress photos coming.
