Consider it done. Will print some stuff out Wednesday when I head over to work on beetleweight pulleys. May even be heading over Sunday afternoon for a tad. _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

Generally we allow some weight growth though as running repairs aren't "flight weight"
I think for the feathers we came up with a rule for every 100g your bot was over you had a 5 second handicap at the start or something?
Not that it was ever used. _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets

Naturally there will be some leniency, but it's simply to prevent people sticking in huge batteries/more armour in the finals.
@ Andrew, sounds epic ! Hope you don't mean heading here... i be in perth >_> _________________ ( •_•)

This is a first draft of how I'm thinking of dividing up the room to maximize public view of the arena whilst providing for builders.
Entrance is from the right. There is a courtyard kinda area outside which could be used for something/unsure yet.
Everyone who has registered will get a competitor lanyard, and guests who have paid pit access (as per pozible page) get a guest lanyard.
Currently it looks like the following is covered:
Filming - Nick (young nick) He got into photography since leaving robots, but is still quite keen.
Dumhed - Possibly doing commentating which would be awesome.
We need some friend/family member to station the entrance, Glen you said your friend maybe? Might just get my dad to do it lol
We'll need to get the tables from jeffs/glens to the event... somehow lol, or hire some locally. Serial space has 3 I think, but it's not enough.
The arena will be going up saterday arvo, and i'll need some help setting it all up as well as tearing it down. It is currently being stored at UTS however we may need to workout a more accessible location after the event. _________________ ( •_•)

Can assist in put up/tear down of whatever. Will come round Friday night or Saturday daytime if you want and get it dialed in. _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics
Hey I am going to be bringing flamethrower but I don't think taking butane on the plane will be encouraged so I am going to fly with the lighter empty.
However this means I am going to need someone to bring me some gas on the event day. I wont need a lot one of the refils will do me for whole day and also is someone able to bring a CO2 fire extinguisher? I don't mind chipping in a bit of cash to organise one but there is nothing worse than your bot being on fire after you tap out and not being able to do anything about it.
Also a fire blanket would probably be good for the times when it isn't necessary to bust out the extinguisher.
On the battery charging front. Do I need to remove the battery from my bot and put it in a flame proof bag to charge it?

You'll be selling tickets and having a bar? Does that require a liquor licence?

No tickets, entry is donation and the pledges mostly only apply to competitors/ vip.
The bar is theirs and i'm going to assume it's legal... under the newer small bar laws in Sydney it would be quite possible. _________________ ( •_•)
house rule perhaps, nobody over .02 in the pits during competition time?
Beer and dangerous weapons only work well together in america ;->
