Beetleweight/Featherweight hubs
Howdy, got my little production line all happening at the moment as i make a few bits and pieces for things so while im at it i thought i might knock up some hubs.
Same as this but with a thread instead of a through bore. The wheel's a tight press fit and a circlip stops the wheel coming off sideways. Will most likely have a grub screw as well to stop the thread unscrewing.
Was thinking $20 a set for all the types. Let me know if your interested and ill start cranking some out Or if you have other ideas for a type of hub im sure i can make em
Cheers

Would you consider making aluminium hubs for antweights to match the cheap HK foam wheels? I made some a while back for my pololu motors
But I know a few others are interested in them too.
They are just made from 10mm aluminium and use a 3mm grub screw and circlip. Foam wheel stretches over the hub and the exposed bit of grub screw works as a keyway for the foam tread.
Just a thought for your production line as you could probably belt out 10 - 20 in a couple of hours. _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

Yeah totally, could probably do them out of uhmw or nylon for a bit of weight reduction

I would be interested in 6 antweight hubs. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

As a customer of Glen's (The abovepictured hubs with belt grooves were for me), I can vouch for the quality of the produced parts, the ease with which one can correspond with Glen and the skill with which he interprets your needs and puts together an expert solution. Makes it all too easy. Definately recommended. Will buy again! _________________ <Patrician|Away> what does your robot do, sam

Yep, I think your lips missed a small portion of his left butt-cheek.

Whatserjiggers i shall make ;D
Heres the design for the 3" x 7/8" colsons. These ones are counterbored on the back so they sit OVER the shoulder on the drill shaft and have two grub screws at 90 degrees to each other. This stops the hub rotating on the thread so the left hand screw should (in theory!) be rendered irrelevant even though you can still use it.
Wheel is a tight pressfit with a circlip to keep it from slipping off. They also come with a pair of flats to put a spanner on so you can wind em on easy.
In 2 weeks or so i should have plenty ready to go just gotta wait for hobbyking to send my damn wheels >:C at this stage looks like ill have:
- hubs for cordless drills to take 3" x 7/8" colsons (as above)
- for beetleweights to take the 1-5/8" colsons to fit 1000rpm gearmotors
- for beetleweights to take foam wheels to fit 1000rpmp gearmotors
- for ants to fit the tiny polou drives and foam wheels
- for ants to fit the new style gearmotors (500-1000rpm) and foam wheels
