You know, I can just imagine someone saying what Brett just said in an American hick accent, just add lots of references to 'doo-hcikeys' and 'fancy schmancy computer mumbo-jumbo'...
New plan: Move to Vietnam and learn no mechanical skills except for taping cardboard together to make CADs _________________ It seemed like a good idea on paper...

CHASSIS IS DONE!!! WEEEEEE!
Made of 2.5mm possibly hi-carbon steel, but it's been painted white-blue, need to repaint it black now. I'm a bit iffy about some of the welds (gaps and such) and they didn't drill the holes for the lid very accurately and don'tm line up with the brackets, so I'll have to make that bigger. The whole thing wheighs 4.5 kilos (about as heavy as Sting) so I think I'll have quite a bit of weight left over. Thinking about getting some of those tires near my house and bolting them to the sides for anti-spinner and some shock protection. _________________ It seemed like a good idea on paper...

Whoa! It's gone all dusty now...
First update in a while! Huzzahs are in order!
I've changed the way the bar is mounted; instead of the angle grinder nut thingy attached to the bar with tiny little bolts, there is now a bar of 6mm galvanised metal bolted to the bar (may tap holes) and the centre hole of both of those tapped to attach to the grinder gearbox. By not putting tiny, tiny 5mm bolts on crucial bits, it's less likely to fail epically.
Pictures later.
EDIT: I Just figured out that the second plate was unnecessary and hence I wasted five bucks on a bracket...maybe it failed a
little
bit. _________________ It seemed like a good idea on paper...
