To get the ball rolling for next year, I thought we could try to thrash out a calender and events list.
December and January won't have events here (work & heat issues - and of course Robowars in Melb.)
- Arena building/expansion day TBA once we can afford 2 new poly screens and minor building materials.
- Bot building day ??? TBA
?Annihliator in NSW - do we miss that month so people can travel to NSW event?
?Metal Mayhem - are we having a Qld long weekend comp ?
HoC events will(?) be held on the 3rd sunday of each month. 3rd sunday is suggested to get around Philip's battleship weekend (1st weekend) and Toowoomba local rc car club meets (2nd and 4th weekends). Anyone got anything else on a set weekend of the month?
Proposed dates....
Feb 19
March 29 - Robowars in Brisbane
April 16
May 21
June 18
July 16
August 20
Sept. 17
Oct. 22
Nov. 19
HoC "house rules" will be posted here as well - after our discussion. Feel free to make suggestions, etc. _________________ There is no such thing as excessive carnage.

April 16th is in the middle of the Easter Weekend. No problems for myself personally, but possible to others? Anyone else got problems with that day?
The dates look good Nick. I'm going to print out and mark my Calender, should be plenty of time between RoboWars 3 and HOC 2006 Round 1. Excellent _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

I cant say anything about it officially yet until its all confirmed, but I have something in the works that should make you brisbane guys *very* happy next year
So you might like to keep the weekend 29 March to 2 April 2006 reasonably clear of other events, I think you'll find it worth it.
I'll make an official announcement as soon as the deal is done. At the moment its just a verbal agreement, when its signed and sealed, I'll let you all know..
Other than that, the dates look fine.. _________________ Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people

If it was what you were saying the last time we spoke on the phone, yes, we will be very happy _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

As we said yesterday, any time over the easter long weekend will always be out for us. So if there is a compitition on that weekend it will be the first Qld comp will have missed.

I think it will be a good thing for the sport to have regular meetings like this. If this means that we will have to miss one or two then that is our loss but keep the dates predictable I say. _________________ Get Some!!!

Regular non-changing dates will be great. Will keep us builders on the toe all the time, since we know we only have 1 month between events. _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

I have asked the battleship guys to only have meets on Saturday.
We should be able to move the event date that conflicts with the Kero's plans. Got to have Keros at events. What do you think, Nic? _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems
Sounds good. I don't think i will have a problem with any of those but that could always change as it gets closer to the date. _________________ Steven Martin

And to think I almost wanted to stop building pretty robots and try winning a fight for a change.
Oh, and using your "if you built it and still want to go near it, then it must be safe" rule, am I aloud to put a flame thrower into Sidewinder? I had a chat with a lot of builders at Robowars III about it and I know it'll ban me from using the robot in Victoria and NSW, but I still want to try it.
Actually I don't want to use a flame thrower against anyone, I just have a deep down feeling that Sidewinder
needs
one.

hey,
sidewinder with a flamethrower would be mega awesome as, would go with the body shape and u strafing and fire coming out will be amazing.
If u could use it legally would be mega effective in combat too as fire would always be pointed at opponent etc. _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

You'll have to make Sidewinder all metal to use a flame thrower or you might melt yourself _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/
