bloody hell guys, i like these ideas but when it got to making some pogs from titanium i had to speak up.
Lets not make it too fiddly or too costly, actually even better lets just get someone to holesaw pieces of lexan and paint it with a pattern on it, its cheap and easy to do. or worst case get some smiley stickers from newsagents and have them on discs
There only pogs for goodness sake _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

Personnaly i think metal ones would be good for keeps sake.
I think stainless would be good something with a bit of weight in it so theyd be like medals.
You could hang them on a necklace thing or on a belt or something.
My laser cut fighter jet is 1.5mm stainless and its pretty stiff and would be a good thickness for pogs. _________________ Tim Team Reaper.

LOL. I can't recall when I first heard the term, but pogs originall started out as a pretty lame game invented in Hawaii and originally played with milk and juice caps, The most popular caps used in this game were a brand of Hawaiian tropical fruit juice known as POG for its ingredients (Passion fruit, Orange, Guava).
Some marketing company sexed it up and pogs are now more like trophies or collectibles. For us pog = medal.
@ Andrew: what's wrong with a metal pog? We could make 'em out of cardboard or anything, but something that looks like a prize is worth winning. The cost is still really low too... _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

Wasn't pog a plasticine character that would get killed each episode by his brother pib? (pib and pog....i've seen it somewhere!)
I think also, in a short matter of time, we'd need a heckload of pogs... if each comp went through adverage 16 matches, then after afew matches you would have gone through alot.. What about just things like "winner of the day" "winner of rumble" and some others instead of one for each match won? Just a suggestion! _________________ ( •_•)

You only kneed one pog per battle cos only one person wins.
Tazo's are plastic and pogs are like presed carboard. _________________ Tim Team Reaper.

Stainless Steel pogs?
Good robots will need to make allowances for the extra weight. _________________ Get Some!!!

mabey just have a painted (yes painted) symble like i read before and have the pogs as a thing that can be put on a sash or stand.
Also when you have different events between states and events each could have different symbles and colors for say a "Gold" pog might be the winners one while the red one might be for the most destructive and black for the most picked on...eta.
(BTW what i mean by gold is use bronze and buff it up with some brasso it dose wonders) _________________ For West ausies interested in robotics email me at: theoneshrug@hotmail.com

I'm not understanding why $1 is too much to spend on something that's basically a prize. Its also way easier to get them made from S Steel or Titanium - IE I buy the raw material, send it to the laser cutters with a CAD file, pay for the cutting and optionally wipe in some paint.
That's WAY easier than manually making them one by one, like many people are suggesting. It would make sense to get at least 200 pogs made per batch and in the post-industrial age we live in, the only smart way to do a simple repetitive manufacturing job is to automate it on a machine.
Look at it another way; I can't see a manually cut, polished & painted pog taking less than 10 minutes to make. That works out at 33.3 hours to make 200 - almost a full working week! Would you spend a week of boring, repetitive work for $200? Me neither!
I'll get off my soap box now and try to think of some cool designs... _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

It's all settled then! Rather than just talk it over for the next 3 months, I will get a demo design together and get it quoted so we know what's possible.
I'm running a little low on artistic direction here - I am looking for a theme and so far its: historical logos off WW2 bombers (or) mechanical images like gears (or) tribal tatoos (possibly 'mechanised'). If you have a better theme idea or a strong like/dislike for the above, speak now to forever keep your pog _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

something simple like a gear or a cog or something maybe may be good. anything that looks cool and funky. _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics
