What about about getting really messy and pulling the ball bearings out of the clutch from inside the gearbox?
I mean what if you pull off the back plate of the gearbox, remove the gear, carriers and the ring gear and then tip out the bearings from that side? It'll be messy and you'll get grease everywhere but it'll get you a bit closer to being able to lock the clutch.

I'm trying to get the chuck off. NOT jamming the clutch. _________________ It seemed like a good idea on paper...

Actually, keep it. I might have a few other questions about drill modding. _________________ It seemed like a good idea on paper...

My 5/16 washer is 10mm, how do I drill it to 9.5mm? _________________ It seemed like a good idea on paper...

Drilling washers is a bugger of a job. I have not done it successfully. I would just go and buy the replacement washers that I needed. I would also get more than I thought I needed. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

The question is confuseing you cant drill out a 10mm hole to make it 9.5 mm .
Mabe you meant the other way around --- Please --- re read your questions before posting them ...if you have a small round file you can ream it out a bit but the easier way is to just buy some new washers

Or If you've got a vice clamp the washer in and drill it sideways, works ok. _________________ ( •_•)

You should have tried unscrewing the chuck before you removed the clutch springs and balls. You can try putting in some grub screws to lock the clutch so that you have the motor torque to hold againt .
Failing that my last resort method that works most times is to take the motor off, remove the gears and the ring gear put a 3/4 inch hex tube spanner or socket firmly in a vice .
Put the gear box housing over the tube spanner and guide the three pins that hold the final stage gears on so that they slide into the tube spanner or long socket.
Lock a large allen key in the jaws of the chuck to use as a lever and unscrew the chuck most times this will remove it, take care to hold the gear carrier square on the tube spanner so as not to bend the gear carrier pins .
( iff you dont have a vice use a socket handle and short extension and get someone else to hold it and the gear box while you undo the chuck)
Reasemble the gear box takeing care to put all the parts back in the correct order and makeing sure that no dirt or grit is sticking to the gears and parts.
Make sure to put a small bit of grease in all the small gear holes before puting the gears back on the pins this is the most important part of the gearbox that needs lubrication. Do not over grease the gear box a small smear of grese is all that is needed for the gears to run on ..
