Proposed Marayong Rosters

I could have put this in the other series 2 topic but i think it needs its own discussion specifically concerning my proposed rosters, and not just general stuff.

Jeff and Glen briefly had a look at these a week or so ago, but I'll put them up here for a more detailed study by all. I tried to put them up in the photos section, got 1 up but the rest were too big.

Ok, here's the basic idea. The rosters have 2 principles.
1: If you lose your first match you're not out of it. You must fight all other losers from the first round until there is 1 robot, always 1 robot, left from the losers. This winner from the losers bracket then has redeemed their initial loss, and joins the winners from round 1. And the competition continues.

2: There can't be a bye into the grand final. If there's only 3 bots in the semi finals, then the loser from the previous round fight to be the 4th robot in the semi finals. Thus the 2 winners from the semi finals go into the grand final, and the two losers fight for 3rd/4th.

Those are the two principles. The rosters also use byes when there is odd numbers in a round. Basically there's no reasonable way round this without adding a lot more complication and more fights. More fights means more time.

Another thing i should mention is when you are looking at the them it might seem strange when the losers fight till there is only 1, when it would be less complicated to take to top 2 from the losers bracket. The reason the losers fight till there is 1, is a fairness issue. That robot has earn't a redemption, and is treated as if it were a winner in the round it lost in.

Ok enough explanation, I'm sure I've forgotten something, but I know people will ask if they are unsure.
The roster goes left to right, just read the top line. The winners and losers from each round go different ways.

Enjoy. (if the links work Confused )

Looks good guys, its clean and flexible and doesnt dwell on the LooOOoosers too much.
Deal with them in the second round then get back into the third as winners and the idea of making up the numbers by giving the last bot out a second chance is a valid idea and will solve many dilemas. IMO anyway
Cool

I still have to study these charts until it makes perfect sense to me; I`m a little slow sometimes (just ask Chris Smile )

Such as; with 9 bots, round 7 (the end?) ends with 4 bots. is there another final or "ah!" is it for 1st and second place?

Laughing Introducing Team Fruit Bat!

I soar on stealthy wings,
my enemies unaware,
Then attack with a screech!
no time to defend
or prepare!

And I shit upside down! Laughing

Smile ok i should have made it even simpler. sorry

all the draws finish with the final four robots. from there its just logic. those 4 get drawn to fight, the winners fight for 1st/2nd the losers for 3rd/4th.

yeah all the rosters finish at the semi final, just because typing out the rest was a waste of time and width of the sheet.

Keep studying and get back to me.

thanks

I knew that! Embarassed

Actually, I hadn`t noticed they all finished in the semis, I`d only looked at a couple before.

All good, looks great, not a problem!
