Tired of those crappy red wheels from bunnings?
want to step up to the "next level"?
All new from the firey pits of robot combat.
At last wheels designed for drill motors and gearboxes featuring exclusive non-patented "squigyness" technoligy for gearbox wellness.
Featuring a solid aluminium hub lathed, drilled, tapped and countersunk sourounded by Kevlar re-enforcing leading out into a tough yet "squidgy" urithane 50mm thick providing shock absorbtion for the delicates of your gearboxes and a whole bucketload of traction.
hows my spiel? do i get the job with danoz yet?
at the moment we are looking for "expressions of interest" estimated RRP will be around $25.
oh yeah did I mention waterproof to 50 meters and they make great gifts?
specs are
20mm wide (about the same contact width as a red wheel)
98mm diamiter (little bigger than a red wheel, but the "squidgyness" drops it a mm or 2 with a 12kg bot on 2 wheels)
looks like about 2sq cm of contact with the ground when under load mmmm, and they get this knarly looking texture after it has been running around for a while.
relativistic "squidgyness" measurement is i can deform the wheel "rim" by about 1cm when i press the hub in as hard as i can with both hands, so its about halfway between glass and a rubber band.
weight is a *little* more than a red wheel
red wheel is 150g by our scales
ours is 166g
NEWS FLASH
wheels now have added funkyness in the form of

Are they 25 dollars each or for a pair.
I may invest in a pair if need be.
Looks great though. U and Russell always produce top notch work. _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

$25 each
that one was from an old batch of urithane which is why its so dark
the production ones should be "pretty clear" TM
we may even go with kevlar for the wrap around the hub. just for the cool factor ;-> _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets

noice, do you reckon you could cover the sides of the wheels with fibreglass or kevlar? im worried that those wheels may sort of be a little flexible in the side to side motion if you get what i mean. _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

heh well if your putting your wheels on the outside of the bot you deserve to have them sawed!
I mean more like undercutter bots like Inspector General
Eaven if your wheels are on the inside of your bot. _________________ Tim Team Reaper.

we didnt seem to have any problem with whatever that pile of bolts brett had was. object of the game is not to get cut in the first place.
after all our rounds our urithane treaded wheels are showing only a few minor nicks in them. _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets
