stripping drill motors
Ok if I keep tightening grub screws on a hacked drill...and the thing i'm moving moves for a bit then strips the grub screws, what can i do to stop this from happening,it strips them every time?....cause Im sure it wouldn't happen on a regular un-hacked drill. Could I do a combo of bearings first with grubs behind for tension?

Shouldnt be any need to tighten them down with any force at all, the grub screw ends just have to sit between the "notches" in the ring gear to stop it rotating around.

yep Just do it tight enough to press the ring gear against the face of the motor mount bit and so they sit in between the notches.
If you hold the white gearboxes in front of a bright light you can usually see through em. Or you can see the motor mount being flexed out if you do it up too tight _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

Oh ok..... there was no stripping at all...I was doing it right all along..... but.....Im using a lame two speed drill and the high and low gear lever was falling out of position (cause the drill is mounted upside down)...well at least is working now and i've zip tied it! _________________ Miles Blow - Julie Pitts

Ahhh sounds like the dewalts, they have a little gear that slides up and down. The old mod used to be getting a can the right size and cutting it down, then wedging it in there _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts
