Wiki Week - Refreshing http://wiki.robowars.org - 23-27 May
The forum is great but the information here often gets buried under many posts and is hidden away.
Over the 23th to 27th of May I would like to see if everyone can spend a few hours during the week just putting what they know up on the wiki and updating bits which are outdated.
@ Brett is there a youtube video embedding plugin installed for the wiki? If not would this be possible.
So topics which I would like to see
1 - Update on Radios - what is out there and the cost/benefits
2 - A video on disassembling the drills with the allen key trick
3 - Upcoming Events on there is soo out of date it just looks bad. That needs to be fixed. and maybe ditch event reports - removed
4 - If everyone could just put there latest bots and a picture on the robots page might make things a bit easier.
5 - Details on the different weight classes and there current activity within the state - Glen has added
6 - Info on the realistic costs these days of building a robot
7 - @Angus How to mod servos
8- @Glen how to design/mount wheels
9 - @Me How to reprogram ESCs
10 - @ aaron how to build a melty brain
11 - Cheap part sources divided by category
12 - @Me convert antweight tutorial to wiki form
13 - How to program the bloody T6A
14 - The current state of the art in batteries (I think wiki still has nicads and SLA)
15 - Current speed controllers for different classes (who has used them and what do they cost)
16 - Beginner feather tutorial (Maybe Miles and Jules?)
17 - Information on pneumatics (Phillip, Viggy, Trent)
I can't do all of this myself and as the Wiki is probably the mail source of information for beginners its probably a good place to start revamping content. I know I talk about making tutorials and stuff but never get around to it so I think if we can try and get some of this done it would be a great start to document how and what we do.
So go register for the wiki and make sure you can login.
I don't appear to have write access to the top few levels which sorta need a bit of changing and cleaning up.
@ Brett feel like doing it or want to give a few of us access?
@ Glen did you try the lower levels or do you need to register a new account? _________________ Steven Martin

Actually formatting rules don't appear to work dont need the "|" when trying to make links, must be an old version of the wiki. _________________ Steven Martin
