Location: Hackerspace Brisbane
Time: 10:00am - Late on the 2nd of July
Classes: Feathers, Beetle, Ants
Invite Only: Not open to general public but if builders have anyone they want to bring along let me know.
Restrictions: Feathers will be Non Spinner and flamethrowers will be allow. However must be ok'd with EO (me) prior to event.
What to bring: Robots!, power lead, power boards, table.
What we will have access to: Space, lots of general tools.
Ok so time to start organising our next event. Hackerspace has kindly allowed us to do it again in there space. It was a pretty good area and plenty of room to setup. Lots of tools and facilities for anything we didn't have on hand.
The date is 2nd of July if anyone has problems with that let me know ASAP as I will be locking it in soon.
What do we need to fix/change?
- Really need to clean those panels properly. Ideas on how we could best do this? Should we organise a day before next comp or just better equip ourselves for cleaning them?
- Was the tables an issue? Should we get people to bring more or I could try and organise some...
- Does anyone who isn't battling want to run the stream?
- How can we cater for spinner beetles?
Ants
Scarlet
Kruger
Scorpy
Stig
Lowrider

Date pencilled in.
We will assemble the arena much more quickly next time, therefore we can start cleaning the panels earlier. It won't take long if a few of us get into it on the day. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

Oh, also to let you guys know we are going to try and do something about the lip in the floor so that the bots don't get stuck on it.
One of our member is a professional concrete cutter/grinder so he has all sorts of cool bits for doing it.

Hi Lemming
I think it was only my robot that got caught. I only has 2mm clearance in some bits so dont go to much trouble just for me. Thanks for thinking of us though. Have you started on a robot yet?

Sky/Naked Turtle got caught on it as well.
When we were doing the melee I was driving it and quickly discovered that slight problem.
Basically we are looking at just grinding it back to not be such a steep transition so the bots should be able to drive up it.
Alas no I haven't started on a bot yet. I will be in the hackerspace this arvo though and I can assure you it's on my mind

You could fill the gap in the concrete with some automotive filler (Bog). It's easy to work with and easy to shape, best part is it's cheap to put in and repair _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

Dude.... we have a concrete grinder. Sif use bog when we can fix the problem properly... With POWER TOOLS!
I'm sure if I put the word out I can get more than 30 people there

We must have been close to thirty people at different times of the day.
Lemming, I would like to see what you can do with a pneumatic weapon in a robot.

I'd like to propose a $10/robot entry fee for this event to help the club fund the costs of running events. I believe we paid ~$100 to the HSBNE last event to have it hosted there.
EDIT: Robot Roll Call now in first post!
Just over a month till this event, so pull your finger out everyone and lets get a decent showing of robots _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/
