QLD - linux.conf.au 2011 Open Day - 29 Jan 2011
Got an email in the QRSC account that I thought I would share here:
Hi
I'm one of the organisers of linux.conf.au 2011, to be held in
Brisbane in January. One of the events the conference organises is the
Open Day,
a free public day to spread the word about open source software and
related ideals.
One of the streams we've got at the Open Day is Hardware Hacking, and
I'd like to offer you a stall for the event. We've got three
hackerspaces in Queensland participating. We're holding the event at
The Edge, and I'm really keen to offer stalls to members of the Edge
community.
Basically, you get a table and pinboard for the day, and you get to
advertise the robotics club to the public.
I've attached the pro forma mail with all the details, some of these
are likely to change.
Thanks for your time, please don't hesitate to contact me if you have
any questions.
My name is Clinton, I'm part of the organising committee for
Linux.Conf.Au 2011, a yearly technical conference that covers all
things Open Source. The major component of the conference that I'm
involved with is the Open Day, a day for the Open Source community to
engage with the community at large. I'm inviting your group to hold a
stall at the Open Day. The stall itself is free, what we ask for in
return is for you to provide interactive and engaging material in
your stall, items that people can pick up and handle and ask questions
about. If your project has special requirements outside of what is
listed below, please get in touch with me. We have a few places set up
