we really must stop changing the dates, everyone knew this is event was soon after IF so if the event was to be changed it should have been ages ago.
I cant make any event that's not in the holidays due to school and other commitments on weekends and now we don't get to meet Angus' girlfriend that he says he has Shocked

We will continue to change dates when it suits the majority of people. In this instance it seems that there are a few people wishing for more time. Suggesting that you can only come on school holidays is a bit restrictive on everybody else. I mean there's only 4 holidays in the year. What if I were to say my wife is a teacher (which is true) and that we tend to go away on holiday those times so they can't be scheduled then.

If I remember correctly you can't come other weekends because you play soccer. That's a choice you make, not us. By the way are Sundays any better for you? In regards to future dates I've never had a problem with Sundays.

Its looking like:

Cobra
Demon
Orbit
Chris #1
Chris #2
Plan G (or equivalent)
Scissorhands - if parts arrive
Flexo
Bort's #2 bot
Starfish
Angus's lifter (name???)

That's a really good turn-out for highly destructive bots; all we need is a flipper like Maurader and a good flame-thrower for a full poker hand!

I must agree its been a bit of a long winded start to the year.
Its odvious we wont worry about a comp this year!
Iam sensing a slow decline in interest so i suggest we have a battle 2 or 3 times a year as most seem to want anyway.
If thats the case please say so and we wont spend time and money on the arena.
I understand everyone has busy lives and work commitments all the time not to mention the 13 and 14 year old builders we used to have are now 18-20 and chasing skirt so making it more casual seems the only option.

ill gladly have 3-4 robots done by july hopefully, pulled old vertical spinner out of corner and majority of it is in a working condition and done besides weopon system so that wont take long to get going for a filler robot or for demo (wont put in in comp against nasties as a good hit to the side would ruin the drive system

Orbit ill slowly be getting it back into shape as of this weekend

ot enough parts to make a third feather reasonably quick so that should be done come July and can throw together some sacrificial robots from spare drills etc if need be

Don't put on the black hat quite yet.
I've already met a handful of people at uni who are quite keen to get involved. Personally I'm waiting till the uni workshop is complete then I can really start to roll out one or 2 quality robots. It's been a slow start true, but should be seen as discouraging quite yet....

Everyone was dead against having less events - I floated the idea at the start of the year and got flamed! The Ideas Festival was badly placed between dates we would have had the first two events and while it was great to go, it stuffed this half of the year up for local events.
