Its a gonner, dont use it again or it might go up in flames.
I think the main reason is overcharging. although i think the same happens if you try draw more current out of it than they're rated for? _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

Yes overcharging is one cause but I think that more leads to fire. Pulling more current out of them then they are rated for & also leaving them completely discharged will lead to this.

Oh Damn!! I had a sneaking suspicion it wasn't good news. It was working fine up till this morning. Then kept getting a charging error. I always balanced it so It shouldnt have been over charged.
Well its been doing its bulge for a while. I was using it for Wombot's lifter maybe that was to much for it?
Oh that means me and Jules will have to share the one beetle battery for the next event. Might get one in time from hk! _________________ Miles Blow - Julie Pitts

Yeh it could be. They are cheap packs so might have got a crap one. You can probably cut open the plastic and remove the busted cell. Or just leave it in there and change the wiring. If the other 3 are still fine then should be right. Will have to do a bit of fiddling with balance plugs and stuff but you should be ably to make one out of it.
Thats a shame. This is why, at these low prices, i always get 3 of everything i want 2 of, per robot. It seems like dead money but its great peace of mind during an event _________________ <Patrician|Away> what does your robot do, sam

They call it "Puffing up" in Lipo land. Google it and you will find its very common.
Usually caused by being not nice to the Lipo, Overcharge, Over-discharge (rate), or Capacity (draining it too flat). Sometimes crappy chinese cells do it just because they feel like it.
You're supposed to drain puffed lipo's flat slowly, puncture the bag, soak in salt water (to neutralise the lithium - makes funky goo) before turfing them in the bin..
They are more likely to burn/explode in that state, so dont throw them in the corner and ignore them. _________________ Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people
