Dont fall for Media Beat-Ups.
Did you know plain 'ol regular Flu kills ~36,000 people every year in the USA alone ?
A few extra people die from a new variety of it, and everyone holds their breath.. sheesh. _________________ Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people

Yep one person has died which is aprox a 1 in 22 million chance of dying from it in our country.
Which means if your a person worrying that your going to get the flu and die then your prob one of those people who spend $100 a week on tatts lotto lol _________________ Tim Team Reaper.

havent two died?
Both having other medical issues that for all we know acualy killed them they just happened to also have a flu
lets hope they have not wasted too much of the countrys reserves of tamiflu or whatever it was called in case it is actually needed at some point in the future _________________ Remember to trust me, I am an Engineer.
there aren't any really effective anti virus medications.
tamiflu and all that stuff at best just takes the edge off, for a normal flu it reduces the duration from 7 days to 5 and makes the symptoms a little better.
If you get the flu your basically on your own. All medicine can do at this stage is supportive care. IE feed you via drips and stop temperatures getting so high you get brain damage.
Its not something that a) spending money on will fix and b) anybody can really do anything about.
no quarantine is going to be 100% successful, so theres no point acting like it will be.
The only really silly thing I have heard so far was letting the other 2000 people get back on the boat where they had confirmed the presence of it.
They should have pulled them off, quarantined the crew and decontaminated (perhaps, it'd probably be fine if it was just left alone for a week) the ship. _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets

I have 2 points of view on the whole Swine Flu 'Pandemic':
1. Mums a doctor, so i will never be worried until she is, but its very entertaining watching soo many people at school worry about catching the flu and talking about how fast its spreading.
2. I was one more recorded case away from having school close down for a week. Some Preppy and a yr 11 had it, but 3 cases is the whole school quarantine point. WOuld have been interesting coz I had VCE exams the week after -.- ...But ahh well, all fun and games til someone brings out an "I survived the Swine Flu" T-Shirt. _________________ Chris, Team Collo
:::Is the answer to this question "no"?:::
I was actually considering printing some a few weeks ago.
I think in total 40 people have died from swine flu since the outbreak. It would be interesting to see how many people have died from normal flu. _________________ Steven Martin

My GF's dad is sick and they're testing him for it, unlikely, and even if he does have it, he's healthy and i doubt anything will happen, she's been quarantined from school for a week because of it. _________________ ( •_•)

Don't worry Angus, you can't catch swine flu from your imaginary girlfriend. In fact don't worry about protection either, so you can stop buying those latex gloves for your right hand too.
Seriously, hope everyone is ok. Trouble with flu is that it spreads easily. There are people I know who I suspect may have experiencd mild forms of it. _________________ Farnsworth - "I hate these nerds. Just because I'm stupider than them they think they're smarter than me."

My favourite part was the Portal references in the comments:
