So what will be happening on Saturday? I hope to arrive about 12.30. Will there be many low KE bots?

On Saturday we will be starting 10am ish (Steve can you try to get here 9am?). We will be having a basic build/test day with an after lunch semi formal club meeting. I will supply sausages and bread for lunch and will get drinks if i have time. All welcome.

Andrew is doing a tremendous amount of work to get money for an arena. Daniel has made the plans. QLD roboteers will really benefit from all of their hard work.

Marauder's shell was still at the welders so Alex and I just brought out the weapon system to show the new guys that said they might come along. Hopefully, Marauder will be back from the welders before the next event. I am looking forward to even a non-weapon event.

I meant to post earlier but my modem doesn't seem to like the heat and spat the dummy till it cooled down.

It seems people don't like to come to a meeting to stand around talking and look at robots. So the 29th of March we will be hosting a non-spinner competition with all welcome. The obvious date of the 22nd of March is out for us here as Easter is the National Brass Band Championships.
The day will be run round robin style so everyone will get a go. I will post pics of our new arena tomorrow so people can get an idea of what to expect. I will once again put on lunch and drinks so get here early or you'll miss out. I will also send an e-mail around to remind everyone including those who havn't kept up with the forum.

I've found exactly the same thing. Bringing a robot somewhere gathers interest, but asking people to turn up to discuss them doesn't seem to work so well.

Besides the fact that I didn't have the robot running, I ended up having to help a mate fix his car. So that killed my day. Will be there for the non-spinner event though. Might be time for a weapon for Schmackhed Cool

I see the actual event is producing some interest already. Should at least have a few round next time.

I don't mind turning up just for some club chat, just Saturday was killed with having to help a mate out. Razz

An event does mate it so so much more inviting though, cause I totally miss the mayhem of our previous years! Cool

True that. It has been far too long between some decent battles in QLD. Hopefully we will catch up soon though Wink
