Well moth was going to organise the judging, so there shouldn't be any draws although it still is possible however unlikely so I just wanted to clarify what happens.

I've updated my earlier post to reflect the face off.
Please let me know if the details appear correct as I want to use that as an outline for running an event

I'mm still watching this thread , but the event type shouldnt impact on the judging . A fair (for all bots) reliable and repeatable judging approach that reflects our compatition remains my concern. enjoy _________________ Some people pass cars - some people get passed by cars

12 sounds good.
If everyone could aim to get here at 11 so as to arrange a schedule for the day, set up and so forth then we can start at 12
I will have Bull-Ant, or Fire-Ant as he is now known for reasons you may guess.
so we can get a light weight circuit going.
There will be a BBQ with snags @ 1 buck each though everyones welcome to BYO BBQ food and drinks. _________________ Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.

Couple of things
First of I am trying to combine tomorrow with a stop in at Bairnsdale on the way so we wont be hanging round all day.
As far as the points for a Bye
Neweyn’s system
1 for a win 0.5 for a draw 0 for a no show 0 for a loose
Original drag race system
2 for a win 1 for a loose 0 for no show 2 for a solo pass (bye)
No such thing as a draw
In a single or double eliminator the bot that draws a bye isn’t disadvantaged, after all its not its fault his opponent cant make the call so I would pay full win points.
If this seems to be giving the bot getting the bye an unfair advantage I would suggest we insist they are required to put the bot in the arena and beat up an old vacuum cleaner for 3 minutes.
That way they at least have to recharge and if they cant make the call as in they might have blown something up in there last fight they will get a no show score instead of a win score.
I would think they would need to show controlled mobility for a set time, perhaps a 10 count or something like that to qualify for the win points. _________________ Satisfaction is proportional to effort and results.

I've had a few problems finishing off my robot, so Puncturer is going to be a no show for tomorrows event

Another couple of scratching I am afraid. Matt cant come and I had a little problem with the magic smoke in my new Sidewinder so Maestro is no go.
I was going to give Weasel a run but as the Sidewinder arrived I switched from assembling weasel to Maestro.
Broke one of my rules.
My philosophy uses to be don’t use bits that I can’t
afford to have spares of.
Other Problem is I don’t know if it was just me being clumsy or they just can’t hack it.
Reboot is ready to go and I might bring one of the Banes or Rat depending on how I feel in the morning _________________ Satisfaction is proportional to effort and results.

OK were on our way; just Reboot and Weasel today so no Rotwang tank rush team tactics, we will see how other people do it. _________________ Satisfaction is proportional to effort and results.

OK Results
A few notes before we post the results. These fights were judged using a slightly different judging criteria. As well as having a round we were testing both the judging criteria and the scheduling of the day.
As for scheduling. if you drew a bye you had to demonstrate for the full 3 mins that you had controlled movement and that any active weapons worked if so we deemed that you earnt the points of a win
3 rounds were fought then a semi final and a final. for the semi final we had 3 robots and to avoid having a 3 way fight the highest ranked robot on the kero current table got a bye (did not demonstrate movement hence no points) points are to establish who makes it to the semi's and final's nothing else.
2 points win 1 point draw 0 point loose

@ Daniel: totally off topic, but I noticed that your tables are a little out of date, particularly the NSW ones. Most of our bots have five or less fights recorded this year and most events have 3 to 5 fights per bot, so there seems to be several events missing. Any chance of an update? _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

The NSW table doesn't get updated because you have your own scoring system and ignore mine, so I haven't felt like updating it. The last event is still missing from the main table.
