The robot is made out of 3.2mm Hardox 450, the block of Aluminium is for an intricate part of the weapon. I'm going to get Team Whyachi to make the part simply because you cannot buy this part, nor do I trust anyone else to build this part (I need a lot of precision this part). The first prototype will be scaled further if it proves successful. Using Dewalts as the drive motors, even if the weapon fails, I don't think it will be boring....
I've decided I've had enough fun just competing at events and making up numbers, this time I'm looking at making a winning robot, so things are being looked at a lot more in depth then my usual, "It works, it'll be right" take on things. Also stepping up and trying something new, so treading into unchartered waters requires that bit more care, hence the engineering company, Ajax and Andrew all helping me with parts of the design, that I don't have enough knowledge about.
It probably won't be ready till the end of the year, but I'm not going to rush it for the sake of competing, I can always bore you all a bit more with a rebuilt Schmackhed, which was successful in being a simple, reliable robot.
Anyway, in time, y'all see..... _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/
