Started getting the parts together for ICU.

So far i have the 20mm thick uhdpe for the frame and is very solid.
Still looking for some local timing pullys and belts for a 1-2 ratio but most places only stock car stuff.

So far specs are>

Drive- HTI motors at 20.4v on xu1 gearboxes with 4inch blue wheels. INVERTABLE!

Weapon- 4inch 3.6kg max spinning drum at about 3300rpm.

Weapon motor- Scooter motor at 20.4v geared up 1-2 as still will have lots of torque but without the gearing up it would be too slow.

Frame- 20mm thick 70mm high UHDPE very light and should give me a 2.3kg frame or less.

Armor- 3mm ali

Batterys- 20.4v CP3600 cells.

Speed controlle- victor883's

Weapon switch- Rc Relay switch from R.M.P

And allso hoping to get new 75mhz tower hobby radio soon.

The bot will have 3 sloped sides like the whyachi drum bot but will be 2 wheel drive.

Well i have cut out all the uhdpe parts for ICU's frame and screwed them together allso made some mounts for the drill motors which have come out realy good.

Will cut base plate out tomorow and screw it to the bottom of the frame and mount the drive motors and batterys and electronics inside and buy some 4inch steel tube and drop it off to get welded into a drum and get some shaft collars made for my rubber clutch mech for the chain drive for the drum and allso some bush mounts as i will be using 16mm copper bushes insted of bearings to save space weight and money and allso they should live longer then the bearings and should be stronger as i will make the housing out of a block of steel as the bearings have pressed tin housings and will bend.

So far the frame has turned out to be 2.3kgs not bad as i allowed for 2.5kgs.

Was going to put side and back wedges on if i had spare weight for protection and for well wedges but wont have enoughf weight so insted ill be adding some more battery cells up to 24v and maby just a back wedge if i can spare it.

Will post some pics tomorow night.

Im am very happy as i wont be over weight and will have a nice heavy 4kg ish drum.

Seems to me that ICU looks a lot like GH-Q’s drum Hardcore. Just coincidence? Smile

I couldn’t work out where the batteries were going in the POP picture.
One thing that would worry me with that layout is the large amount of weight on un powered front wheels or skids. Confused

Hardcore uses a 24v Dewalt hammer drill motor, little up market compared to the scooter motors Wink

I like the look of that thick, chunky plastic structuring. It should stand up well if put together right Cool

Havent seen that one?

The batterys will go eather side of the motors in the back.
I have put skids on the front of the bot and they work realy well on mdf very smoosh and slippery. The reason for the wheels going at the back is so i can be incertable.

So far i have mounted all the electronics and used two 50 amp breakers for each channel.

U have opted for a 30 amp relay to turn on the scooter motor as i allready have a few of them so i think thet should be plenty for the scooter motor.

Reason for using scooter motor is less current cheap and i allready have 2.

Will be gearing it up eather 1-2 if 18v or 1-1.5 if 24v.

Will pick up frum tomorow if its finished being welded and drop in some bushes to get some mounts made and the desighns for my custom made pullys to siut a home made belt.

Well last knight i mounted the rest of the top armor and bolted some bumpers on the side to stop the bot getting stuck on its side.

Allso pressed the 16mm bushes in each side of the weapon forks and did some more electronics.

Al thats left to do is mount weapon motor and chain drive and pick up drum and put it in when its ben welded.

Should have it done for the 7th of may event Twisted Evil .

Heres some pics of what its looking like at the mo.
