Lol you should just chop the cylinder down so it has less stroke and can actually fit in a robot. It'll bend the cylinder rod at its current size surely? Should finish it anyway just to see what happens Laughing

shaft is high tensile steel so shouldn't bend (hopefully)
Caused me to go digging anyway
first Plan-C wep Vs 1.6mm steel

I think that was around 100psi or so from one of those tiny compressors.

Plan-F driving around from back in the day

We also have the additional 6mm around the bottom. 80mm Punching though 1.6mm steel with everything pretty well rigid is way different to when its on wheels. I know the suitcase only weighed 10kg but its still going to be 5x harder to push than something on wheels.

300mm is probably bit much for me to unsure safety but if you could limit penetration to 100mm and the spike is below the 80mm barrier I think it would probably be fine. But would need to be tested before the event.

Wow, Plan F is fast indeed!

What the hell is wrong with your camera's audio tho? Sounds like the camera itself is powered by a small, low revving diesel engine

I *think* 2x 8:1 reductions.
Something in that region anyway.

The problem was the belt pulleys were mounted off the side frame of the bot, so as soon as there was any impact the frame would bend just a little and the belts would run off.

@angus
would have been nice if he had those when we got some steppers of him for another project lol, We spent like $200 on a pair of pulleys and a belt from somebody.

NSW Road trip

I plan to drive up to the Nats again; Andrew has first call on sharing the drive, but if he can't make it or you just want Lipo packs driven up, let me know soon. This year, the drive will be turbocharged...

Sorry to disappoint, the turbo will very likely be attached to a Subaru XT premium. The van is going into retirement but the SUV will hold plenty of gear. Not the most exciting choice I know, but a sensible business decision for the next few years coupled with a trailer.

You might have missed the bit where he says he'll have a new car (although it may be manual, and Subarus do make strange flat-four noises Wink )
