Saw are very visual weapons. When a kid sees it he'll know what it is for straight away. But I happen to know where to find some nice ali fly wheels that may fit onto the angle grinder gear box (poor gear box. oh well).

Works for Scarifier. And I don't plan on letting anyone around the sides. I also have, well, extra toys I could play with.

I'm limited by the angle grinder gear box. Take 40mm off for those strengthening spikes on top.

Geez Glen. Learn to take a hit. Very Happy Those front grauds are easily replacable. I learn from other peoples mistakes.

No Srimech, the robot was becoming to big.

LOL so are mine, i just have to cut remake and reweld Razz what motor you got powering that saw?

it might be easier and surely more powerful to unload a thermo fan motor into the front of the bot.

I have a cordless circular saw here and I was also playing with a mini EV. Saw motor first (it sounds cool), mini EV if I need to go to fly wheels.

After ringing a few places looking for Weldon polycarb glue I finally found one guy who was finally some help and it seems that joining 3mm polycarb in the way I wanted to wouldn't be a strong as I had been reading about. But as I was talking to him I suddenly thought up a back up plan that may even make Sidewinder slightly more eye apealing. Unfortuanly it'll mean more bolts and more tapping. So for I've tapped 84 holes in the robot.

And as for what I have already built I have the 3 drive motors installed and all the electronic so it's been taken for a test drive. It just need a bit of bracing aross the front but that won't improve driving. The weapon motor and angle gearbox is fitted as well. All that needs to be done is a clutch between the circular saw motor and angle grinder and the armour, which is what I wanted the glue for.

Mulfords sell Weldon. I will probably get some for Alex's Yamato.

Yes but they didn't want to sell any to me. Try Industrial Plastics at Morningside.

If you go for a flywheel, make sure to include some form of friction-drive washers on the output shaft.

I.G. can tell you, angle-grinder gearboxes ('specially cheap ones) really dont like sudden shock-load stops. So far, I've chewed up about 3 of them. Teeth crunched up, and woodruff keys on the output shafts shear.

A slippy drive should fix that..
