and take a lot more care.
^this comeing from an engeneer that dosnt realise that a weopon is only as strong as its weakest point jks
bah its simple you just hook up your parents vacume over the drill/drillpress and drill away that way the only thing that gets screwed over is the vacume _________________ as a shadow is seen and not heard i am here

The weakest point of anything is in most cases, is the designer, or the Purchasing officer that changed the specs with out consulting any one.
If you knew some of the other things that were wrong.
It is surprissing that it did as well as it did. thats another story.
and on another note: - I'm not a qualified engineer, I'm a technician, qualified in Electronics.
But do a lot of engineering work. Still learning, from trying and talking to others.

lol ooooohhhh best accidedent was when i was riding my bike to get bot componets (glen knows this one) well my shoe came off my foot and wedged on trhe tire and behind the forks.
in short did you ever want to see a man fly outta a moveing catapult and almost land in a car windscreen.
*phases memory back* fells great to be flying untill you come an inch away from the ground and you realise that the ground wont stop for you its even better when you get up dust your self off fall over because of shock then laugh for the next 10 min untill the addrenalyn wears out and you realise you have almost broken your wrist because of the rolling manuver you tried to pull out at the last moment and that your hip is the size of a water mellon
so kids dont forget to wear a helmet it will save your life
face limbs torso side of head or any other part of your body other than the top of your head where your hair grows is not included

*cough*necromance*cough*
Was bored, so decided to add a new list of injuries:
Grabbed soldering iron (again)
Grabbed soldering iron- with a twist! (Accidentally melted plastic around the wire onto the iron when I was first learning to solder, insinctively picked it up and scraped it off with my finger...)
Gouged into hand with a hacksaw, still have the scar
Drill heated up really bad while working on Sting, happened to be wearing sandals when it slipped onto my foot...
Drove Sting into my leg, haven't been allowed to drive it with the spike on unless it was well out of reach since...
Damn flathead screwdriver gougings
Lots of tiny, tiny (and easily breakable ) splinters
Scratched my hands numerous times with the fragmented thin sink tray
*sigh* That was a long one... _________________ It seemed like a good idea on paper...
Probably standing on the end of a welding rod after I had just finished up. Melted under my big toe. Thongs do not count as shoes while welding. _________________ Steven Martin

I'm beginning to wonder if we should be posting stuff like this, new guys will look at this and think the whole thing's a death trap ! _________________ It seemed like a good idea on paper...
Well its not like any of these injuries could not have been avoided. A few simple safety things like glasses and proper shoewear and a bit of common sense could have stopped pretty much everything.
But I don't think this is doing the insurance rates on events any favours so might be time to remove the thread. _________________ Steven Martin

Its all fairly generic stuff that happens with most metalwork and talking about this kind of thing should help promote a good safety culture which is far more important than sweeping it under the rug.
Its not like we are talking massive OH&S requirements here, proper enclosed footwear is a must. Safety goggles/glasses are a must. Welding and grinding is to be done in booths at events. If your at home watch out for pets, they like looking at welding arcs.
Grabbing soldering irons is just stupid no amount of OH&S will help you there ;-P.
The habit to get into is if you drop something that is the slightest bit dangerous focus on getting your feet out from under it and let it fall.
This applies to soldering irons as well as kitchen knives etc. _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets

Using the drill to take screws out of rhino yesturday, the head was warn down, and the drill jumped off the screw and onto my thumb, going through the nail and into me.
I wouldn't sugest trying it.
