I have to do some terrible run around, so hoping to get there by about 9:30.

I'll then have to finish putting a few bits on my robot since my free week ended up being full of work and other lame stuff!

Strange that no one has a computer in NSW this weekend.
This is what I know from talking with my brother on the phone:

There were 4 rounds yesterday and there will be 3 more today.

The scoring system sounds as inconsistent as always with my brother talking of not going for a KO as that wont get him into the finals.

Hellcat had Bender first. Hellcat stacked Bender against the wall but a couple of seconds later had speedo issues and stopped. The judges decided since both robots where immobile bender should be freed but Hellcats electronics where not reset so Hellcat lost by tap out.

Offset and Smack Head both won their first fights.

Hellcats 2nd fight was against a brick I didn't catch the name of. The Bricks IBC failed before fight started so Hellcat got a bye and not many points.

Hellcat then fought Rapture. Rapture was having driving problems and was twice stuck on the floor. First time freed by the judges 2nd time by Hellcat. Hellcats flipper was not working but I don't know why. Hellcat took some cosmetic damage but was still going at the end. Judges gave it to Rapture.

After this Daniels Sabertooth controller stopped working. It is hard to diagnose the fault over the phone. It now has servo switching and so will continue.

Sissyhands lost to an all plastic robot.

well plan g won, dumbell 2nd pound4pound 3rd and cobra 4th i think. i lost when i went to turn the robot on for the semi final and the sidewinder exploded Sad

lols at the not going for a ko as that wouldnt get him in the finals, i dont think anything would have gotten it in the finals Razz it was in a few pieces in the last fight.

scissorhands kept stopping with some power problems and bender smashed one of the side wheel pods very hard and broke a fair bit on the drive.

had a very enjoyable two days Very Happy shame the shoddy construction of the sidewinder let me down but thats something else that wont happen again next time Smile

Actualy the final result - DUMBELL won the day.
It was a tough judging decision that was eventualy reasoned to that dumbell had control for longer and took no real damage. It was very close.

Yeah, that final would have been hard to judge - I would also have said it came down to control. I was Really expecting Plan-G to flip Dumbel at some point - next time perhaps...

Scissorhands had a fairly ordinary event; blowing a surface mount part off the reciever PCB and forfeiting a round pretty much meant I had no chance of making the finals - incinerating Mag Motor and some drive motors didn't help either. I still had fun and the event was definitely a success.

thanks to everyone for this event!
It was a lot of fun, and good to get back into it Smile

I really didn't expect to win, but with a few bits of luck going my way with other bots breaking, and mine generally working well for a last minute effort came together in the end.

I really hope there's some sort of picture or video of my nuclear ignition in the last fight, otherwise I'll have to try to re-create it some time!

My brother has every fight on video apparently. I heard the finals were fairly dull with Dumbell not moving for 40 seconds continuously.

I can't wait for the video to come home tomorrow night with whats left of my already scrapped robot. Oh and Daniel will be home then too.

it was probably more interesting in person than on the phone, but both bots had various lack of motion for a while towards the end.
There was still fire and grinding going on, just not much driving around Razz
