I can't remember if we follow the 100mm^3 rule for the 150g bots or not? I am drawing up a new robot and it is a little over that at the moment. I can get it under 100mm x 100mm with some work but I think we should clarify the rule.

We've never followed the 4" cubed rule in Australia.

To enable people the maximum amount of freedom and therefore have the most interesting range of bots, I would think the 4" cubed rule would be very limiting. So I would have thought we would want to avoid it.

Ive certainly found it hard to keep under it when Ive been designing.

I guess it would only matter if the bot wouldnt fit down the pit / trap door but be interesting to see a massive ant that still is only 150g🍔

A couple of mine are longer than 100mm in one direction - Cut Above is 150mm wide not including the wheels. Bladetip is also pretty wide.

I was looking at directly scaling down a featherweight design but in order to get the internals to fit I would need it to be larger than 100mm. If it is larger than 100mm then there is a lot of empty space inside the robot and the chassis will be a lot heavier than it needs to be. So while it would be nice to have a scaled model of a larger robot the weight limit is the issue.

Cool pit opener.

Looking forward to the event. Glad it wasn't this weekend. How did you and your dogs get on in the heat?
