Anything that isn't a singular saw blade, apply a tip speed limitation of 2.54 meters per second would resolve these issues. To prevent Sportsmens becoming a mass amount of saw blade spinners, apply an articulation rule. _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/
Hmmm might be a good addition for next event. Or just ditch the saw blades entirely while its fun to have one or two a whole field of them doesn't really add too much to the competition as they aren't effective.

How would hydraulic crushers fit in the rules? Would an articulated spatula be OK for the lower jaw? _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

I don't see any issues. If its an integral part of the weapon that is acceptable. _________________ Steven Martin

Designs like Scoopy Doo, Skeletor, MegaRON & Cold Arbor uses them in a way that fits with the spirit of the Sportsmen class (Promoting creativity, novel design and driving skill). So an outright ban might be a little harsh.
I dunno I sorta like the novelty of the SAW SAW SAW SAW bot.
I really want to avoid the

I reckons taking saws out and requiring active weapons would raise the bar for new entrants pretty high. _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets

'Don't be hating on rotating' Since saws are not all that effective, they will limit themselves. A saw is an easy way to get started and as a builder's skills grow, they can articulate it or move on to something else. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

I've always look at this mechanism.
Looks a bit undersized, I was thinking more along these lines:
Should fit in the weight limit with a little trimming... _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

If THAT is going in to the sportsmen class, I'm going to call my robot 'chew toy'.

Seems to me a bit of a storm in a tea cup; the drum was always going to be under the 400RPM limit, its light weight and small diameter relying on the torque of the geared drill to keep it turning.
The saw sitch as far as the 10” vs. 250mm is my fault; I just assumed that was just a rounded number to convert a common imperial size.
In my defense I would point out that 10” is 254mm not the 255 quoted elsewhere.
So were splitting hares over 4mm on a weapon where the speed of the saw and the power of the motor driving it are free from restriction.
The brush cutter blade was used to set up the frame during the build and allow for the weight _________________ Satisfaction is proportional to effort and results.

The
SPARC rules
4.2.3 set a limit of 400 rpm on all spinning weapons and lower rpm on higher MOI. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems
