Dunno if anyone cares but have just discovered the LTC6991 pulsewidth modulator. Cheap, easy to use, 0-100% control.

Finally a semi decent build volume in an UP printer!
If that is ~$1500, I'm buying one!

Very sexy, but given that the UP Plus 2 is around $1,500 this new printer is likely to be well over $2K

According to 3DPrint.com, it's going on sale at $1899.
So once landed here, probably $2000 isn't far off the mark.

Let's hope - but $1899 doesn't include all the gouging that we have to put up with. The UP Plus 2 is around $300 cheaper in the US than here, so that puts the Box at about $2,200 in Australia. On the bright side, there will likely be some amazing deals on the Plus 2.

The plus 2 has already dropped in anticipation of this thing coming out. Let's hope the reseller price is half decent. Razz The build area is huge compared to the plus 2, almost double. Entire beetle frames? Very Happy

Hobbyking now has XT90 plugs with anti spark built in.

Very tempted to develop a BotBitz removable link product based on these.

Could you do somethign 3D printed with a screw which pushes it in/out?

That would be awesome.

Just modify the 3D printed link I use in Mr Mangle - you can probably make the bayonet retainer from plastic as well.

I really like the screw method as it means I only need a small hole in the case. But yeh that would definitely work.

you can do it with a screw system.
you just need multiple contacts, simplest system that suggests itself with 3d printing would be to just have the leg of a resistor pointing up through the center of the contact. Use the spring of the resistor to have its resting position be a few mm above the surface of the contact plate.
