I'm looking to build a robot with my kids, but it seems Perth is a bit light on for activity. I've done a bit of searching but cant find any recent activity. If anyone is keen I'd be happy to start some kind of builders group and say meet once a month etc, but would ideally like to join something already running.
cheers
Damo

Fish_in_a_Barrel, Savage and Windhammer are the only resident WA builders with robots in some form. Fire off a couple of emails/pm's to them and see if you can stirr some activity up. _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/
Or I could finish netbots. And fight by post ants. _________________ Steven Martin

Hey Damo, The builders mentioned are pretty dark at the moment, it's been quite a few years since they competed.
I'm from NSW but travel to Perth frequently, would be happy to meet up when I'm next there. I know it's a long way and flights from Perth cost a lot, but the big national competitions in the works for QLD later this year would be a blast to attend.

I'm happy enough to catch up with you and talk about your ideas. I've been over to Melboune twice to compete, so I have a decent background in what works and what doesn't
I'm fine to help out, I have some parts lying around, but I'm not too sure if you can convince me to build a full combat robot again. The last thing I did was help out
Astronautics
but he has been fairly quiet for the past year or so. I might be able to get him involved again if he hasn't been distracted by discovering girls (or his final years of high school).
I'm sure I can knock up something driveable fairly fast (if I can get my parts back from uni) but I don't really have any weapons for it. Somewhat helpful if you wanted something to lightly test against.
A lot of my extra stuff recently went to
Dreakoth
and as Glen said, he might be keen to get back into it.
The last time I tried to get people together it didn't go so well, but I do still have most of their details, so I can try contacting them again if something starts up.
Edit: Feel free to add me on MSN if you want to chat about it. _________________ They say that he crossed the fine line, from insanity to genius.

Perth builder
Hi
I moved to Perth in Dec 2011 from the UK
I can give you some advice in regards heavy weight robots.
I have built 3 the 4th could be finished in about 30 hours.
I have been in Robot wars and Robotwars extreme.
If you need any help building a heavy weight or middle weight drop me a line.
