I think epic is an accurate description.

Heaps of fights, Crowd of 250+, on nine news tonight and in documentary.

Maybe not quite as big as Ideas Festival but as good if not better. Really happy with how everything ran. I think everyone enjoyed themselves.

Will give bit more of a wrap up 2moro but too screwed atm.
Anyone catch the webcast???

Steve

The most interesting thing in Sydney's 9 news was about an octopus predicting the soccer results... Laughing

Steve is a champion. You could not hope for a better event. The fights just kept on coming. The crowds loved it. Nothing ever felt stressed or rushed.

Footage is uploading to dropbox. iMovie refused to recognise any of the formats which eyeTV would export so has like 5min before the robowars footage.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/815267/Live%20Recording%20-%2026-06-2010%206_08%20PM.mp4

Overview of the day.

So I arrived very early to finish setting up the arena. The ground not being flat caused a fair few issues. And it sorta wasn't too square initially. After getting the roof beams up Daniel arrived and was able to assist with the straightening of the arena.

We new polycarb roof really makes viewing about 10x better no problems with reflection even outdoors in direct sunlight. Floor was well screwed need to work out something better to do with that next time as we just keep getting bloody stuck. Also the moisture/temperature difference makes MDF bow quite significantly when the arena is like a greenhouse.

Antweights in attendance were:

    Fury Jr
    Spinderella
    Scorpy
    Stig
    Jack the Flipper
    Styrobot
    Aussie
    Froggy

Feathers in attendance were:
    The wEdge Bot
    Crosscut
    Vendetta
    Avenger
    Sproing
