Having just picked up an old lathe, I'm looking for some bits for it
It's missing the chuck, so I need a 4-5" 3 jaw (self centering) chuck for it.
I'll also need some tools, so interested in peoples' recommendations. There seems to be a fair bit on ebay but not sure what's good and what isn't! _________________ The Engine Whisperer

For new but cheap lathe bits, check out
http://www.mcjing.com.au/categorybrowser.aspx?categoryid=25
. They have a fair bit in stock and are good to deal with, but ask if something is available before ordering - they don't seem to get new stock in frequently.

also keep on eye on there postage if it does not turn up a couple of days and everything is in stock i had an order get held up for a week after they claimed they shipped it and had to contract them about the issue.
Very helpful guys once i contacted them however _________________ Remember to trust me, I am an Engineer.
I ended up ordering a chuck on ebay that looks pretty good, and a bit cheaper.
It's the right size at least!
Hopefully I'll have sweet lathe action soon! _________________ The Engine Whisperer

I'm looking for some blocks of copper to machine cpu/etc cooler blocks for a water-cooling project. I'm finding it hard to source some raw copper. Second-hand cheap stuff would be best. Any ideas ppl? thx _________________ Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.
