So an ev has 1400watts of power on two 3600 24v packs or is that its max power if you had an unlimated power supply?

JW

Dose anyome know of any good free sites that will host video's?

Just a minute. Are you asking for the power for 1 EV Warrior or 2 with 2 x 24V 3600 packs? Only using the EDT software will give you the results for using 2 motors. No wonder 1400W looks to high for one EV to put out.

would like to know the power of one motor.

Which EDT program would you use?

Or is there only 1?

Using one EV Warrior with one 24V CP3600 pack yields 630W, two packs in parallel yields 760W. This includes 0.03 ohms wiring resistance.

You can work out the power for just one motor by using the "rear wheel drive cycle" mode in EDT Sim.

I'm trying to make a translational spinner (like Y-not and why-pout) but i have some trouble finding a simple enough system.

I first thought about a small module in the middle of the bot, that can rotate independant from the rest of the bot. In it would be a gyro. using the gyro, it would stand still, no matter how rapidly the bot changed direction. Using that as areference point, it could speed up and brake the motors to move around in one direction.

Does anyone know if this would work? and are there any simpler ideas? (i'm making a non-translating 3-wheeled fbs first to see how that works out)

Hey sweet idea

One robot did use this udea it was a team think tank creation (i have one vid but forgot where i got if from im afraid) and it has a tracked robot in the middle and a massive steel frame/shell with three etek motors direct drive to some wheels on outside.

the wheels ride on ground and spin the heavy outside frame and the tracked platform moves it around.

i've seen the mechanical versions(the team think tank one is probably a lot like the whyachi things) , but i was wondering if there are any electronical ways to do it, not that i'm that good at electronics Rolling Eyes

my advice would be dont make one so tricky and go with a simple, spin a heavy thing up *shell, bar, disc etc) up to a nice speed and run into stuff with it method like most peeps use

All funky spinners ive seen of a descent size like y-pout and most recently cyclonebot have not been too good and a simpler spinner setup has proven to be better

I could always go the triton way and get another wheel in, so it can drive normally and when needed, spin on the spot. It'll be terrifying enough as-is Laughing

Yeah, and our arenas don't have drop zones to ricochet out of! Very Happy Thats a sweet idea. Hmmm, 100w scooter motors? Smile

It's more for english arena's and stuff. i'll probably drive it of 3 speed 900 (900 type, slow-running motors) on 20.4 v, that's even enough to drive a heavyweight Smile

my original plan for a heavyweight was a translation spinner that was supposed to be all electric, based on a basic stamp....

the best way ive seen it done would by cyclonebot in the US, and that thing has basically a full blown computer inside it from what i can gather.

another way is by a bot called teslas tornado that has two IR recievers on either side of the bot and steered by taking measurements and what not from that.

i personally think that a huge translation spinner is the best robot one could make (along with a warrior type robot) if they got it working right but getting it all made electrically would be verging on impossible unless you really know what your doing.

btw andrew, that robot is called the plague and i didnt think it was team think tank made? you might be thinking of finary binary which had two little one wheeled robots spinning on two arms around the bot.

if i had to make something like that but SIMPLE i would just make a 3 wheeler omni bot with some really high speed drives like dewalts in high gear and just make that thing have as small a diameter as possible. now that would be sweet.

Glen- Its team think tank made. ive read and heard from at least three diff sources and stuff.

Translational spinners r a great concept and generally really cool but until i see one working properly and doing some descent hits/damage and effectiveness im not gonna rush into one.

Im one for doing whats proven to be effective

Hope if u do get one going the best of luck and i hope it does really well though.

I've just got a nice 2-speed drill (similar to the ones Aaron has) to drive the leg(s) Very Happy . And i'm busy cutting frame pieces. If it goes along well, i'll take some pictures.
