I had to shorten the blade down to 10cm to fit it into the weight limit Nah, its just short in the render so I can see the parts behind the blade.
Perhaps I can make a pair of pants like Glen's? _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

Nah that's glen's thing. Pirate patch though for the win!
I like your blade hight changer too, so your tactic would be to avoid under cutter blade to blade contact eh... what if their blade is longer? _________________ ( •_•)

Holy crap, it's a monster!
I hooked the Lipo packs up for a spin test today and found out what I was missing out on with KE weapons. The dual packs provide a much higher current source than a Nicad pack and that translates into an incredibly fast spin-up (like around 2 seconds!) and a higher RPM (around 2,400). This is the test rig:
The battery voltage stayed over 24V for the 60 sec test and the current peaked at around 120A before dropping to 40A. The best part of the test was that nothing except the Mag got hot - I couldn't detect anything even getting warm. With two of these packs in the back of Scissorhands, it's going to absolutely rock! _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

@ Angus: Hmm, After that test I might make SC a pair of brown pants It was scary just being in the same room as the spinning weapon!
The idea is to avoid Kilobyte's reinforced shell and hit it where I might have a chance of denting it. Same goes for anything with a low blade that's shorter than mine. For longer blades, I just try to make mine the same hight and hope my blade is stronger. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

The new lipol's sound pretty insane!!!
I think you should stick them into normal jolt for a crash test next event.
Good call with the stratergy, what's stronger... Tool Steel or Bis 500? _________________ ( •_•)

I am hard at work getting the demo frame for Scissorhands working - if I put the Lipo packs into Jolt, it would flip on every hit . Given the performance, I am thinking about making the second pack just a pair of 3700 sized Lipos - they might get warm but they would save space and money. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

One bot, skin off
Work on the demo version of Scissorhands is progressing well; all the internal parts are mounted and ready for wiring:
This frame is too short to fit both Lipo packs, so it's a single pack or a low voltage Nicad pack if the Lipo gets too hot. The control electronics on the right is mostly done, while the power electronics on the right needs a stack of heavy-duty crimping. From the power tests, it is not clear if two SSRs are really needed - I like to leave a safety margin so the two relays stay in.
Looking at the photo gave me some ideas; move the battery down the front, stack up the SSRs, drive motors on the side, shell on top - instant Kilabyte clone . Too bad I don't have any extra time for bot building... _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

Gosh! so many relays. Do you need them all? _________________ Oh god, that old signature was terrible...

Only two... Jolt has one relay and so far, its had a perfect record. The Mag motor can draw more than the 100 amps the relay is rated for, so if the motor was stalled for long (ie stuck in an opponent's armour) then a single relay might burn out. The blade on this bot will be about 50% heavier, so that increases the strain on the relay as well. I have lost major events in the past from dead relays, so I am being cautious with Scissorhands. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

If you enjoy copying other peoples designs, sweet! I much rather come up with my own fresh, unique design thats never been done before. The problem is, whenever I put pencil to paper I design something thats been done before! Its hard, but not imposable.
I'm not having a go Nick, just MY opinion(that properly doesn't need to be in your build thread. ) _________________ Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

I included a smiley emoticon to show that it was my feeble attempt at humour.. I liked the idea that I could take most of my undercutter design, juggle it about and come up with a full body spinner - never going happen for real. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

I finished the design for a new and heavier weapon teeth today:
They weigh in at 382 g according to Rhino, which is 30% more than the small set of teeth. The enclosed end should make these teeth less likely to shatter and the greater weight should develop 1,500 joules of energy according to the Team Cosmos KE calculator - that's well up from Jolt _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

Um, I am not seeing anything that matches I looked in the pinion wire section and nothing in the imperial section looked right - the metric section was all brass. Did you have a part number? _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion
