VIC: - Pre RoboWars Builders Meetings

Its probably a good idea to see if we can gather all the sleeping Vic builders together and dust off some machinery before we get invaded by Interstaters trying to keep our Trophy in their state again. Wink

Any suggestions for upcoming Builders meetings ? Dec 16 or 17 maybe ?

@ SideTracked (No practice arena), or Grantville (further but someone where to test) ?

At the moment I don’t feel like a full on event, all our bots are in bits for a general overhaul and some upgrades.
I am also building a totally new version of Bane.

Just a laid back get together, show and tell at Sidetracked would suite me at the moment.

If some of you are keen for a real event at Grantvill I could bring a couple of the old bots along. Maybe once we have everything ready to rumble I might change my mind but the prospect of lots of extra repairs before Robowars doesn’t grab me at the moment.

Dec 16/17 sounds alright to me, I think a meet at Sidetracked is probably a better option. Grantville is a bit too far to go just for a builders meet.
Would it possible for someone to bring some scales as I would like to see how much extra armour I could put on my robot Very Happy.

Regards

Andrew W

I will bring the official event scales. George’s spacers and noodle wire and a bearing for Neweyn anything else?

Any news on my other 2 IBC’s Brett or Jason?

Any preference Sat or Sunday?

Jason has gone on Holiday for a couple of weeks, but I just managed to squeeze your other 2 IBC's out of him before he left.. Smile

Would you like me to mail them to you, or hand them over in person at our proposed builders meet this weekend ?

Sunday is probably better for me.. Anyone else ?

Well, It seems that the Vic builders are even more asleep than I thought.. Rolling Eyes a grand total of *two* interested parties in a builders meeting.. thats a pretty poor showing guys.. Confused

I have plenty of other things clamouring for my time at the moment, so seeing as how theres so little interest, I think I'll work on some other projects this weekend - I also have an event to organise - flyers, meetings and lots of other items that have to be done, which have to be done more importantly than shooting the breeze with the few who are keen.

If you guys want to get together at SideTracked or anywhere else, feel free, but I cant promise I'll be there.. Maybe sometime over Christmas we can drum up some more interest. If not, something tells me it might be a walk in the park for the Interstaters to win again this year.. Mad

Exclamation Sad
I thought George was attending too but that was probably a hint from his build thread.

As far as scales go Brett has a set at his place, they have only one load cell and the bot must be placed carefully to get an accurate weight.

I am still happy to drive to Melbourne but it dose seem to be time that I could put to other pressing jobs if its just you and me Andrew.

Just saw your post Neweyn, If Brett’s attending to I will be there.
