Make the pipe 20mm longer, glue a smaller end cap inside about 10mm further inside from the outside lip and then use a heat gun to soften the 10mm over hang of the PVC pipe and then shape it over the end cap.
I have no idea if it'll work. Just making it up as I go along.

The idea with putting screws through the sides of the pipe is good, would make it strong I would think, but it's a lot of mucking around for a few mm's difference, is it really that important? Laughing

What pack are you going to put together? Could you use the full 36v? How are you going to charge your batteries?

Your garden needs about 100 palm trees.

Edit; Just read that you will use Victors 883 and they take up to 24v. Please ignore the question about 36v.

I was just having a read back through this A123 thread.....Phil posted this....

Some info posted on the RFL:

3532.6 in reply to 3532.4

The A123 cells require a very different charging voltage from regular LiPoly cells. LiPoly chargers charge at 4.2 V per cell, but the A123 cells require 3.6 V per cell. Connecting a regular LiPoly charger to a pack of A123 cells would destroy the pack from overvoltage. A 7S A123 pack will successfully charge using the settings for a 6S LiPoly pack, however.

CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG

I would like to run 7 Cell A123 packs....I CAN charge this with my Triton set @ 6S LiPoly pack!!!! 25.2VOLTS!!

The Triton only supports up to 4 cells in Li-ion mode. So I'll be ordering a LiPoDapter to help me out. I can use the NiCad setting to charge up to 10 M1 cells with the Triton.

$57.43AUS Total

When I have had questions about this product and sent emails, I always get a very prompt and detailed response.

Bearing blocks/mounts are done. It took a while, but all the measures were correct and it all lines up great.

There are some good advantages, when using bushes.

the main one is that they are lighter than gearings.

the only real issue is that they have more friction on the rotating shaft.

But that can be over come with a good lubricant and don't let them become dry.
If you use a light machine oil or a low viscosity grease there isn't much of an issue at all.

Thanx for the info Ajax! I'm going to try some graphite power for lubrication, it's the less messy of all the options I came up with.

Dewalts motor mounts are done:
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e275/trentellis/Image121.jpg
Just 15mm Nylon, but I have put a strip of gasket material between it and the motor can.

Slightly modded Victors:
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e275/trentellis/Image122.jpg
Small fans, trimmed mounting posts and a little bit of foam shock mounting.

Shell edges:
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e275/trentellis/Image117.jpg
(no light in pic Laughing , but it makes it look good thou i reckon Laughing )
All edges made parallel with the ground, sides are higher than the two wedge ends.
