Sounds good! Let's get all the materials over to the areana and brainstorm a final plan while we have everything in one place. whether we use the slot int he top wall or not, let's run the framework down the the floor for the most rigid support possible - I have plenty of timber, after all.

What's a good time and date to deliver the materials and sketch out a plan? I am only in Baulkham Hill now, so its about a 20 minute trip.

Yeah, I recall Saturday too - Jeff, what's good for you?

Andrew, I should be back on MSN by Wednesday (Optus are 20 days late with my DSL, Grrr) so we can sort out a time then.

While we are doing the wall, perhaps we should look at camera mounting points? I have a tripod with a removeable head, so it could be screwed to a bracket almost anywhere.

Jeff, I don't quite understand about the "not having to drill any holes" don't we need to hold the polycarb ontothe frame at the top, even if it sits in the groove at the bottom?

Errr, umm, yeah, it was an idea I had about sandwiching the polycarb between two slats of the pine with 3mm masonite spacers across the top and virticals but we would need at least 20m of the pine. I am probably just thinking of doing it the hardest way wich I usually do. I left a 40mm space above the lower wall joiners for a horizontal brace as it would be a shame to run a virtical post down across the lower windows,,, bla, bla, bla, you will see what I mean and we will work out something strong and nice looking I`m sure anyway.

Yes, Saturday would be great and as early as you guys like. The earlier you guys wake me up, the more I can get done in the day. There is still tons of decorative potential to be had, we have floodlights, coloured spots and the smoke machine installed. A strobe light is coming but that may be too much!-- Maybe with a quick intro of bots with smoke and a shower of grinder sparks for the video boys Very Happy

A circular saw would be handy, I have plenty of cordless drills, yes, spare XU1`s of course! Laughing

Sparks and smoke for effects!?! Sounds excellent. Should make for an interesting show.

Lindsay and I would like to be there and help but we have other things on. Hope it all goes flawlessly.

OK, I have the polycarb in the van Very Happy

It looks like we will need more wood to support the sheets; the 3mm stuff is very 'floppy' and supporting it just around the edges will not be enough. As we are laying the sheets sideways, adding 2 vertical dividers to each panel sounds about right. Its not something I want to do, but when you see how flexible the plastic is I think everyone will agree...

I will get some extra timber later today and more screws too.

If anyone coming on Saturday could bring along a sawhorse or a fold-up work-mate, we will really need several.

Just a quick question about the Marayong Arena layout, are we going to have teams with work benches on either side of the shed? I was just talking with Andrew today, and if there are teams on the other side and we have spinners like Basilisk, Annihilation and others... If one managed to elave the arena and hit the shed wall which is only about 0.5mm tin, thel will go straight through. Confused

Help?

well for 1 if you do a good job at mounting your bars it shouldnt be a problem.

if the inner wall doesnt catch it i would presume the shed wall would slow it down to a speed where it would harmlessley fall to the ground.

if not i guess its up to you guys to determine whether its safe when you see the arena in person Smile

I can't see any of our spinners being able to penetrate shed wall after making it over the inner barrier. If the whole blade comes loose, it will put a a big dent in the shed, but only something small and sharp has much chance of going thru
