I looked at those. To be honest, they don't look nearly as sturdy as the oemrc 100A one glen got, plus im not sure what to make of this comment on the 36A version.
"UNRELIABLE CONTROLLERS
Jeff
The 5 stars are IRONICAL! As bad reviews are automatically DELETED!!!
Got two of these ESC's With the USB programming key for a GWS ME-262 with twin fans.
One of the controller failed after only a few secs of use on the bench! It was already fitted inside my ME-262, ready to take off. I had to remove everything and start the installation with new ESC's !
The one that still works has been tested on several brand of motors: Mega Motors 16-15-5, Hyperion out-runner, and GWS in-runner. The ESC was able to drive all these motors properly. Throttle is not very smooth though.
But how long is it gonna last? Is it gonna die on the bench or will it be in the air crashing my model at the same time?
The USB programming key sounds good on the paper. But to program the ESC, a battery pack MUST BE CONNECTED to the ESC, while it is at the same time plugged to the PC through the usb port. This procedure sounds extremely risky for the pc. What would happen to your pc in the event of a malfunction or a short circuit in the ESC? Seeing how these controllers are unreliable, I would avoid to connect them to my pc again!
Apart from that, programming features are rather basic compared to other brands.
Unfortunately the low price of these ESC's has a cost, and it's called low quality!
I'd rather pay more to get something that works. Crashing a plane to save a few bucks on the ESC is not a clever choice.
