might be into that, i'll see if i can get a piccie of the battery pack.
ubuntu linux loves my weird camera ;-> benq 1300+, dosent apear as mass storage or anything, plug it in and up pops a little window asking me where i want to save the pictures.
100X better than windows and "real" benq drivers for it lol. _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets

if jake doesnt grab them i will nick, im certain a few cells in one pack of orbits is a little weird, need to get good pack going for this event and after this evnt tear apart other pack and go through cell by cell and see which is dead
Im conferming Orbit as a definite, wont be completely finished but will be finished enough to compete, if i face jolt or other nasty;s ill have to forfit until orbit has back side wedges attached and stuff but will be going well enough to take out cobra and my grudge match against roadkill _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

I checked the batteries - 7 beand new with skin, 3 brand new but no skin (or I replace it) another 6 slightly used. They are all CP3600 C-sized cells - will that work for Orbit? I thought you had sub-C?
Jake: I could swap some cells for a small lathe job if you want... _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

sounds like it might be interesting ;->
i pulled a few dodgy cells and put the best cells into the other pack, looks like it might not suck too hard.
its taken at least an amp now so its not all bad.
still we need 2 packs.
damn the new pack looks so cool
need batteries for camera.
so what date is this thing on? dad is pretty dern fixed on the long weekend, and i am somewhat too. _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets

The poll says the following weekend, but everyone posting seems to say the long weekend (including me!). I can snail-mail you some cells or you can build them in on the day if you need them. The lathe work is about ten minutes worth with your eyes closed _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

well with our packs putting it in on the day isnt a problem ;->
if you could charge them though that would be great, they will match with our cells (somewhat) then.
I wonder about putting the batteries between 2 big steel sheets
problem is the heatsink on the bottom of the cell means it wont touch
I take it you want the lathe stuff done after the weekend?
we want to go to A123 cells soon anyway (as soon as i can make a charger lol) _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets

Regarding the poll I think it's safe to say everyone is ok with the long weekend? I know I can't make it the previous weekend anyway so yeah... (isn't that like tomorrow)
EDIT: ah its after, well naw can't make that either as we go on holidays for a week .
Long weekend suit everyone? And if so, do we really need three days worth still with the lack of interstaters and all? I think two sounds slightly more logical... I know i'll be needing a new bot after two days of battling spinners anyhow _________________ ( •_•)

Ok here's my thoughts.
Saturday we hold the normal round. Sunday we have the tornado tag. That way we see whats left running on Saturday.

Sounds good, that would suit me too. Also, I sort of have to find a place to crash saterday night... any offers would be greatly appreciated lol, no way I can get dad to drive me there and back each day!
Also, regarding that... If either Nick or Lindsay would be able to give me a lift to Artarmon sunday night and my dad driving there instead of all the way to Blacktown I would be very thankful! So would he... lol _________________ ( •_•)

Yeah, definitely tag on Sunday. I can make it either weekend but I would now prefer the 7th over the 1st of October since some parts are running late. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

What's up with the bushings? I don't think Edcon would be open on a Sunday... _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

I updated the list of bots. Talked to grassy today and he's unlikely to be ready on time due to school and camp...
How does this sound for people?
Saterday:
<> Normal competition, followed by a rumble and maybe grudge matches.
Then people stay late at Jeffs or something, not sure what people would want to do and it's up to Jeff also.
Sunday:
<> Tag team competition (although we'll need an even number of bots to do it) and if not perhaps a three way comp? (not sure how this worked at the full annialator a few years back).
Also i've got my beetle running but it's not ready to fight another yet, but i'll bring it along anyway to beat up some coke cans during breaks.
Eek less than a week!
Ah... also... I'm "hoping" and "assuming" we are doing it this long weekend, because I won't be able to make it to the following weekend...
Can anyone not make it long weekend and can the weekend following? If two or more people would require it the following weekend I'll sit out, not that I really want to miss it! _________________ ( •_•)
