When is the event likely to finish? It would be really handy to know for people flying inter-state to know if they can fly out on Sunday evening or Monday.

Would I be able to tag along with someone from Sydney/Newcastle? And any advice for where to stay in Melbourne? A bit of help would be appreciated because I don't know anyone.

Ending times of the event arent exactly predictable, but the final usually occurs around about 6-8pm on Sunday based on past events.

Sidetracked like to close up by 10pm, so unless you want to hang around for the after-event bull-session at the nearest food and drink dispensary, you can be certain of being on the road by then.

Of course if you like to swap alcohol enhanced bot-stories afterwards, then a monday afternoon flight might be advisable. Smile

The OverLander IIRC, is a train Cool We have the Sunlander up here in QLD that goes from Cairns to Brisbane daily. I'm guessing WM is wanting to catch the train to Melbourne...

Ah OK, I get it.

Well, from Spencer St Station, you should be able to transfer to a pakenham or cranbourne line train, then hop off at Huntingdale.

Sometimes (late nights and weekends) you might have to go from Spencer St (where all the country trains arrive) to Flinders St (The center of the Metro train system) before you can hop on the suburban trains..

but its all easy to follow.. they tell you on big screens at Spencer to "Take next train to flinders st" (its only 1 station away) if necessary.

I have booked the plane tickets, hire car and motel so we are set. I have also inquired about the hire of a CO2 cylinder for the weekend so if anyone else needs CO2 for any reason (not as a fire extinguisher, that just has "Health and Safety Issue" written all over it) just let me know.
