We got it as an email to the shop this week.... we are still hunting info as to why it let go - e.g. was the charger set to the correct chemistry of the battery, was it set to the correct number of cells, etc, etc.
will keep you posted. _________________ There is no such thing as excessive carnage.
....only just found out more about the LiPoly fire....
...going from the info we got just this morning - the LiPoly pack *may* have been damaged from overuse BEFORE it was charged.
...the charger was set to the correct chemistry, number of cells, etc but the person charging the pack did NOT use a LIPoly charging balancer.
...a friend of the person who had the fire claims...
"We put the pack on to charge then left the room to make a cuppa. Heard a pop (similar to a paper bag being burst) followed by a crackle sound (as if someone was crushing up plastic bags)...
...went into the room to check the battery and was greeted by the sight of one wall in flames, the bench on fire, most of the models in the room eithor melted, melting or burning and small spot fires around most of the room."
