Gelatinizing Solvents

I can't seem to find any info on this anywhere...
I'm aware water is a solvent, but can you make, say, kerosene jelly? I've got a little concept that might make a good bot for the Ausbot outdoors competition. If you did do it, i'm assuming you would you need to warm (no flames please XD) the solvent, then add the gelatine, but can you do it at room temperature instead? Also another factor I thought of is the evapouration rate of various solvents, for example methylated spirits, which i'm guessing would evapourate before you could do anything with it (unless the combination traps it somehow). My current concept is to get balls of the stuff and pneumaticaly shoot them, igniting them as they leave the barrel. Laughing

By the way, i'm not about to go blow my self up lol so don't stress Laughing

EDIT: Hmm gelatinized powders are types of explosives it seems, "military smokeless powders" . Any one able to enlighten this as well? Confused

I saw a report on www.boingboing.net about makeing flammable jelly like substance . Ill try and did it out for you . They had experiment of using jelly and high % vodka and i think they got it to finally work . Why not try and get the flammable stuff to shoot out like in a super soaker and try and figure a way of igniting it ?

Its just Naphthalene so its not that bad, just dont eat it or sniff it constantly . . . It burns well, just stinks a bit lol. If you got the crystals you can get, you could melt them and mould it into balls of the right size.

Totse will generally have what your looking for . . .

Stick with dry ice in a coke bottle... That's dangerous enough Smile In reguards to the Ultibots, I'm not sure how legal it is to be making your own explosive or flame weapons....

And anyone making explosives/flame weapons that are petrol based are crazy, petrol costs to much to waste like that Laughing

Be careful with that site, there are some very dangerous mixtures there, things that are more likly to blow you to bits than your enemy.

That said its alot of fun to read.

My more adventurious side really wants to make some of the stuff, esp the flash powders.

BUT my sensible side points out either A: Its going to blow me to bits or B: If it doesn't it will attract the police who will throw every terrorism charge this side of canberra on me
