Nice

That's what doolsaw was meant to be. Very well executed. Far better than mine

Yeah, one of these http://www.aliexpress.com/item/12V-DC-50mm-2inch-stroke-16mm-s-0-64inch-s-speed-600N-60KG-132-Pound-lift/32234847750.html

I've run out of welding rods, so need to go to Bunnings before I can finish it. My welder is crap and I'm really wishing I can buy a new one, but I might just have to leave crappy welds on this thing. Crying or Very sad

I'm also going to touch up a weld on Berserker and give it a coat of paint, or possibly just a clear coat.

I'm waiting for the 12mm bearings to arrive before I can test install the drive and then I can paint. I also need to find a 4s controller for the arm actuator.

Was this 10:1 4s with 100 mm wheels? It had good speed and acceleration, didn't it?

And I thought I should render a picture of what the steel version should look like.

Yes and yes. Just the sprockets had the wrong bore. I used the same ratio vs wheel size in Berserker (1:25 and 250mm wheels) and it drove fine in Sydney, apart from the tiny M3 grub screws slipping on the shafts, which are being replaced with flat end M5 screws and hardened shafts.
I'm also using the 4s NTM4235's with 1:10 gear ratio onto 100mm wheels in Prowler.

Ebay.

I also brought HobbyWing speed controllers on ebay. HobbyKing doesn't sell my car controllers anymore and none of their current car controllers match the specs of their old controller. Nothing with 4-cell, sensorless and forward/break without pausing. But I read that the HobbyKing trackstars were a copy of the HobbyWing controllers, which were easy to find on ebay for the same price and work fine.

Well I ordered them before Steve started talking about modifying TZ85's.

I got the WP-SC8 speed controllers. Seemed to take forever to arrive from China, but was probably only 4 weeks.

And a warning that 6mm polycarb top cover are not going to be a good idea this year Twisted Evil

I also tested Berserker today and found that it still has the overhead thwack moves, which managed to shattered one of the caster bearings.

I looked at Prowler tonight. The smoked drive motor in the rumble yesterday was the first time I have burnt any part of my robots for a few years. I pulled off the motor and ripped it apart and it seems I stuffed up. While getting Prowler ready I was giving the gearbox a check over, which involved removing the motor. When I replaced it I used three 8mm long screws and one 10mm long screw. The 10mm screw went into the winding wires and shorted it out, hence the smoke and burnt motor. Stupid mistake. Sad
