Saw these at north rocks computer markets for 5 bucks each

Guessing its from some torn up printer mechs but the motors r nice, bout drill size and very torquey and u can shove 24 volts in it fine, does about 400-500 rpm too

The whole mech is motor and a vast series of belts/pulleys to 3 grippy rubber rollers

My plan is bolt the two setups together and build a quick and dirty 6 wheel drive lil contraption for messing around with

Hello,

So started getting some parts for this sportsman thing

Xu1 drills 18 volts at bunnings for 30 a pop

Got two and well......

and

Its still usable as in you cut them holes bits off and theres your d slot but the gearbox and motor plate are held together with pins and there is a thread and a plastic parts that threads on that clamps a ring down on some pins with rounded ends (not ball bearings.

Well thats interesting. $30 isn't too bad for 18Vers. Also what is in that neck as its pretty long.

I would strongly suggest epoxying in the pins and also make sure the motor support keeps the plate held on as they can pop out with impacts. I have had a few issues as I didnt have mine with pins very well supported.

Good to see more bots Andrew. I have been watching the Pozible page and hadn't seen your name on there as pledged so wasn't sure if you were coming.

Sooooo...... Got this design i wanna build but the brushless inrunner i got from warnings failed brushless drive experiment but the controllers are shit.

Does anybody have a reversible brushless controller i can borrow which will do 6 cells just so i can build and test to see if this weopon will work?

If not im trying to find a cheap high torque geared motor as the banebots one i was using which was VERY high torque is ruined and i cant justify buying a new one (dont have alot of moneys)

SO if anybody knows of any low heigh high torque geared motors cheap please lemme know

If i cant work out if this will work or not ill throw together an axe robot from a 250 watta geared motor and some crap

Well thought i would dig this old thread out and dust it off

I have been productive mainly on new warning. Will focus more energy on sportsman soon.

Me and Marc are coming to nationals. I will have new warning, marc will run the sportsman and depending how lazy i am will turn old warning into the sportsman or make something from scratch and modify old warning to enter main comp so he can get a rush of taking on the big hitters.

See how next two or three weeks go and will definitely have things planned out.

Got a test baseplate and new layout for new warning driving today. Learnt lots on what ill have to do in final setup. It drives nicely in straight line with alot less veering than older version, more compact and gameplan is to have bolt on systems to take on the different types of spinners etc

Going to be either finding time tio learn cad or get marc to help and get the frame and modules punched out of hardened steel then its just weld it up and test.

Heres vid of test
