hmm, 4am sounds like a good time to go to sleep!

Stealth is working (with triple processor 100% custom control system w00000000!), but needs some assembly.
I figure people will like to have a look inside anyway Smile

Speedbump is now running a couple of my PICaxe relay controllers, so that'll be interesting too Smile

well that was fun Smile

The 433MHz radio stuff worked well at home and outdoors, even over a long distance, but in the arena it was no good. It seems to get heaps of interference and drops out frequently.
Ahh well, I'll keep developing that for other uses, and in the mean time use my PICaxe stuff with the usual R/C gear.

I'd also underestimated the amount of flipping I'd done, and my CO2 ran out after the first fight.
Luckily the local K-Mart has soda stream bottles, so $11 later I had gas for the whole day Smile

The relay controllers in speed bump weren't working 100%, but I think they just need some more work on the software. I had some very simple code in there for testing purposes, and will now sort them out properly.
The dead band was a bit wide too for Lindsay's radio.
I think with a bit more work they'll be quite good.

Indeed it was fun! Just about my most enjoyable event ever! Probaly due to having a pretty decent bot this time! But alot of us got cocky and built non invertable robots due to a lack of flipper... oh how stealth enjoyed that!
AND STEALTH:
FIRST AUSTRALIAN ROBOT TO FULLY FLIP ANOTHER ROBOT CLEAR OUT FOT THE ARENA!
Shocked
W00t it was only 7kg but a feat non the less!
Unfortunatly jolt was full of problems this event, going out 0:2... you'll need to see the videos to find out why Laughing

indeed twas a great day. was very pleased with how well kang worked and less so with how cobra worked. it still needs plenty of attention. cobra smoked one motor but that one is still working perfectly fine! its the other one that has ceased working. no continuity at all so hopefully its just a busted solderer join or something trivial.

Yeah yeah, pay out on Jolt now - I will be back and settling scores in Brisnane Laughing! Jolt was it's own worst enemy and the new weapon weights and rear wedge really didn't work out so well. Glen should mention all the dings in Cobra and Kang Wink.

Stealth was in fine form and I predict everyone will want to build flippers now. In some matches Stealth was lining up the next flip before the other bot had even landed. Mongrel was also impressive, who would have thought and MDF bot would place second? Chris's wood shilz really showed and the addition of some metal on the wedge will make Mongrel a top design.

oh yeah stealth was on fire again as per usual Razz that OOTA was pretty cool.

cobra has a big ding in the very bottom of the frame and kang has a massive chunk out of the top, a piece of aluminium was literally DUG out of the frame and landed on the floor. was very kewl.

Stealth vs Roadkill - out you go! Laughing

Very Happy thanks again nick for the rapp ........MONGREL went real well for a woody bot and i had fun today, actually burnt out my 1st ever motor in the melee which i reckon went for at least 8 minutes the best ever im thinking
as for stealth ,what can i say ,the weapon is one thing ,but the fact that andrew will get yah and flip yah non stop for 3 min is tough to combat and it was great to battle him ...king cobra is a bloody gem of a robot wickedly fast ,i had trouble seeing where he was one second to the next
sad that jolt didnt do as well ,but nick got a real fire in his gut today and im glad i wont be in brisbane .....if he gets it right it will not be pretty ,thanks again to jeff for having us and i hope to be back for the next one ........cheers chris

seeing as glen's bots both ended up with 3rd and 4th... does he get all those points? Or does kang get scrapped and the next runner up get it?

Well done Everyone, top fun day!
Never seen so much smoke in one day!
Well done Lindsay, Speedpump fried almost All it`s wiring Laughing

El B wasn`t coming together so I dressed it up as Violator, stuck in a dodgey controler and had a run in the melee, only to have the drill triggers fall apart. Got to get El B up and running though, Stealth isn`t invertible Wink

My most frequent saying is; "have you left anything?" Yep, found Glen`s battery in the fridge. Looked a bit stale, so I tossed it Laughing
Also Jeff`s screwdriver.

Angus, you forgot to collect your cameras.

Accounts.

Todays fees: $80
Expences: $44.73
Total to date: $440.54

Does anyone have any objection to me getting a couple more of those $10 fold up chairs from Bunnings?
