theres two kinds of unstick in that regard i thinks
theres Bot V Bot where the two bots just get stuck togther and cant get apart, pretty boring to watch for 3 minutes methinks and also it chews loads of batteries that could otherwise be used for blowing each other up.

personally i think 15 seconds is plenty of time for both drivers to decide they are stuck.

the Arena stick is pretty simple (well has been in the past at marryong anyway)
If your bot gets stuck because of a fault with the arena (breaking a wall and dropping a bit of plastic into the gap say (glen)) then yeah its an unstick, if its pretty much anything else, eh your problem.

I remember one fight where Marauder and Verticle Limits got stuck together after about eight seconds. That would be a hard fight to judge if we stopped the fight with both robots stuck on each other.

Nic has plans to upgrade the arena so that there are no gaps under the side barriers under which to get stuck. I think that we should keep the existing practice of unsticking until after the upgrade.

I still can't make it. The church's sound and lighting upgrade is in full swing. We pulled about two kilometres of power cord out of the ceiling today.

If we ban Sproing that would fix the unstick problems. Wink

So for this weekend we have Prancing Queen and Avenger. Who else is coming?

MoF *should* be finished in time for this weekend.
Rolling Eyes Yeah I know it has been over 12 months in the planning/building.

Should have taken those wood working /metal working classes in high school... not ancient history and legal studies. Evil or Very Mad

LOL! I had the opposite idea, I should have done Ancient History and Legal Studies because all the hot chicks were in those classes, instead I did Engineering & Metal Fabrication along with IPT and put up with a bunch of w**kers for two years Razz

I like the sound of the RFL match rules, but I think we need to make the improvements that you were talking about, Nic. You were saying that you were going to cut the concrete and fit the wall down into the cut so that bots would not get stuck under the splits and cracks in the timber surrounds, IIRC.

I think that the wall also needs to be made in such a way that Marauder cannot easily OOTA. This would make the matches to breif and would become boring.

300mm high wall I reckon. Marauder has a lot of flipping power, but isn't very controlled Cool

There is a good chance that we won't be there. The chinese buggered up a rather simple part, so I have to fix them all by monday. If the parts don't arrive before lunch time tomorrow then I will have to work this weekend. That and my parents birthday up the coast saturday night and not having a robot finished and my brother not being aloud to drive my car, it doesn't look good.

I hope Nick doesn't have too many new people wanting to watch this weekend.
