Interstate Invasion
I think us New South Welshmen in particular need to discuss our preparations for the upcoming assault on our southerly "neighbours". I think we've covered the issues of transport and accomodation thus far, but perhaps more on what each of us needs to do to get our bots up to tip top shape after a grueling year's competing.
To start the ball rolling I propose a build/planning day on Sunday. How does this sound?

a build day would be great asap, but i think nick and myself are doing more cobra building on sunday. maybe we could get that done early and head over or something?
wrt to plans and stuff ill just post mine here anyway, im heading to melbourne straight from darwin (holiday) am staying at that lamplighter hotel (i put the link somewhere ill find it later) and leaving on flight qf460 which i think is on the night of the 17th...
cobras powering along buildwise and kang needs 18v motors a new battery cell and those castors welded on. ill take both irregardless _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

@ Glen: The Cobra built was on Saturday AFAIK I really, really want to be at the tactics day but I am already booked on Sunday afternoon - any other time possible?
BTW: I need to have a house moving cleanup, so I think I will fill a few boxes with potential bot stuff for everyone at the meeting to look thru - think of it as Jeff's new junk heap _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

Okay then, we'll plan one for the sat 17th, the same day the vics are having one.
Well ive solved one of the problems with retread. Namely the radio controller issue. I found a reasonable deal on a Futaba skysport, and i did enjoy the lack of interference that jeff's skysport had. I was looking at some more expensive 6 channels but I really didnt have the need. Big thanks to Nick for the offer, but with shipping cost and time, it seemed more logical to go with a local supplier. Besides its meant to be a christmas present.
So hooray for retread! No more crazy servo dancing. I called it "the dance of a thousand twitches"
Next thing for retread would be a better base plate.
@Glen: How might I go getting some 6mm ali sheet. I know Prong wants to upgrade speed bump too so the sheet might need to accomodate the width of his bot too in the order. If we can;t do it we will make do with what we were using.
So hows the 17th then?

lol i get it as a "favour" type thing so getting a piece the full width of speed hump might be tricky, may have to get it in two seperate sections or something.
