Flame weapons

My brother and me have come up with a new robot that I believe fits into the flame based weapons rules. I will admit that the idea would be extremly technicaly demanding and horribly expensive so it will most likely never be built but it is still an interesting idea. The idea came after talking about a new episode of Mythbusters I downloaded off the net about a Confederate Rocket. Here goes.
The robot will be a traditional wedge shape to get under the other guy and once there a couple of claws/arms/things will clamp him in place. Here is where opinions differ. My idea is to pump liquide hydrogen (fuel) and liquide oxygen (oxidizer) into a combustion chamber under pressure which is then ignited. The two fuels will mix and burn very quickly creating enormous heat and pressure which will be released through an exaust nozzle and into the under side of the opponants robot. My brother thinks a solid fuel like parafin wax and Nitrous Oxide gas as an oxidizer would be safer (because this is what the Mythbusters used).
The end result is that the opponant is held in place while a stream of high pressure superheated gas is jetted into and through his armour in much the same way as a modern anti-tank missile. It all seems to fit into the lattest RFL rules (section 13.6) because no un-burnt liquide or solid fuel leaves the robot, only the exhaust.
So is it within the rules to use the exhaust of the combustion of either gasses, liquides or solids as a weapon?

P.S. Brett, you may want to look at the link to the RFL rules on the main site as it does not work.

What extra precautions will we need to take for the above weapon, Andrew?

Make an amphibious assault vehicle and stay close to a body of water, hopefully theres a pond nearby. Very Happy
Its probably not legal but would be cool to have a high powered water canon that u can use whatever water is lying around as your water source, adds no weight but dont think its legal unless u can drink it I think.

Ummmmm, 100m minimum exclusion zone around the arena sounds about right.

Fire proof everything in the arena.
Huge fans to remove all the smoke. Or infra red goggles to see through the smoke.
Pray it doesn't get air bourne because it would go through the roof.

I'm guessing the builders of the robot should also supply the required money to upgrade the arena Laughing

The rules state that no explosives are to be used.

ANFO ?

Wilko, youre looking more and more a Troll like all the time with questions like that Rolling Eyes

Hey, why not some TNT while we're at it ? High Explosive Detonations in a small enclosed space with people standing closeby.. thats a good idea !

Come to think of it, was there anything in the rules about Fusion reactions ?(down Jake..). Perhaps some EMP's.. we can even kill the robots that are still in the pits that way before they even get to the arena ?

Speaking of, what did you say the address of *your* arena was again ? Wink I have a new design I'd like to test out

wouldnt you be somewhat arrested and jailed for having ammonium nitrate at your place with intent to use it as an explosive lol, cause of the whole terrorism thing.

maybe try out some organic peroxides while your at it!

That’s probably torn it; with this sort of chatter we will have asio & co checking us out.
I don’t won’t to have to shave my beard off! Sad

Strange that one noob could push us so far that so many of us are pushed to the point of having to resort to sarcasm. Very Happy
