If it makes you feel better, I am having mega probs with the R/C car motors. Even though I am limiting steering and speed to around 50% in the radio, they are getting WAY too hot. They are not melty yet, but it wouldn't take long in a real match. On the other hand, they are easily twice as fast as the stock motors and Jolt was zooming around like Plan F or Cobra Smile

To be safe, I am going back to the stock Whyachi motors, at least they lasted a whole event. I also realised something about the gyro - even if I limit steering to 50% in the radio, the gyro will run the motors up to 100% if it thinks it needs to. That doesn't seem to happen during steering, but it can happen easily in a pushing match. Bot with no gyro and slow motors + .7 cool factor.

Ok, im back from schoolies . . . yes, im alive (shock horror!)

The events today then ? Ill probably show up with BoB. Its pretty screwed up, but it will run with the addition of a new drill.

If I put so much as a scratch up Jolt's shiny new Ti, ill be happy Smile

BTW, on the server space issue . . . www.botclips.net will soon be up, and all of your hosting troubles will be a thing of the past.

i didnt know hitler was such a whiner Very Happy

today was great, BOB first, kang second, speed hump third? and jolt wins the whole year i think.

many great fights. jolt killed its thor spin controller in a big way, a few fets now as molten slag lol and it killed one whyachi drive motor.

bob went good all day, as did speed hump, retread and plan f (weapon drawing far too much current but had a bad ass sewer snake wedge)

kang went better than i could have expected. a few clearance, drive motor and battery problems but none the less impressed me. (weapon and drive worked phwoar!)

jakes got videos all done and jeffs doing the hosting so plenty of vids to come.

will extract the photos soon.

I wasted the Thor FETS worse than any bot electronics I have ever blown up before - and I am a bit of an expert in the area! It looks like I will be going back to reliable relays for next time. I didn't blow up a motor today - it smoked very early on (possibly melting some foreign crud) and then went another 2 matches. Both motors loosened their attachment screws, which is easily fixed and I will loctite them for the next event.

new jolt, weapon now goes really hard, and drives rather fast. itll be a bit of a bitch to fight with its frame mods, relay back in the weapon and stuff.

Another NSW championship is over and Big Congratulaiontions To Nick and Jolt for first place, Well Done! Two years of developement has finaly paid off and he always said "I`m in it to win!" Watch out Australia!

Congratulations To Jeff and Bob for winning the day and I think first time ever taking the trophy home twice in a row?!

I`m sure someone with all the points records will shortly post the final scores!
Gracefully, I forfeited the day to give the other guys a sporting chance! Embarassed

A great, long day with enough smoke, sparks and big hits to satisfy everyone! Yes, I did feel a little left out but I was kept busy enough to enjoy myself and to be thoroughly worn out by the end.

Thanks to everyone for another great year and now I am fired up again, looking foward to the intense competition of the next season!

Angus did seem rather dissapointed at the end with the result of the Beetle weight match. Don`t worry mate, we should have known Bort would surprise everyone with a Ghetto Bot that flew around the arena like a featherweight!
Until, now, the beatles seemed to be small, scale, small speed but that has suddenly changed. Even "Hypertech" Slash would have been in trouble!
I think, before it has properly begun, we need to rethink about beetles!

Lost and found. So far.
One claw hammer.
One 8 amp SLA
Two Victor speed controlers ( or were they a gift for me? Cool! Laughing )

Welcome to Shane whom seemed to be pretty impressed and looks like we have a new permanent member. Cheers!

Yeah, special mention to Shane - a great guy and for someone who has not yet finished a bot, he certainly knows his stuff . I can see that he will be giving the rest of us a hard time before long!

@ Glen: you forgot the 'after' shot of Plan F's wedge Laughing

The Planners made a seriously strong wedge that worked exactly as intended, although I managed to leave a few respectable cuts in it. The damage was caused by the blunt back edge of the weapon and I had the Thor SC set on 15% - I had just upped the speed to 100% when their belts failed Sad Next time it will be 100% power using a relay and the sharp side of the weapon.
