I have a 2ch Accoms AM radio that is post-1991. It's been modified so that both sticks are going up and down for tank steering and I have modified the battery setup to run off a drill battery... I have a reciever for it too which has accoms servo plugs, you can use JR/Futaba/Hitex servos with it if your careful on which way you plug the servos in. Yours for $25 plus P&P

Bad news guys!

So sorry but the junk pile aka robot resorces is gone!
We filled a 4m rubbish skip today, I saved the outboard motor but thats about it.
You will have to bring your own junk along with you in future and take it home again!

Could this mean the end of last minute retro fits for ghetto bots?! Shocked

Scores

Thanks for the info on radios guys, looks like Lindsay might be able to repair them as it was simply the crystals shatting themselves.

In other news, retread is getting a few modifications/rebuild. Better wiring, new saw blade and motor, maybe a few other surprises.

@Glen: Do you think that market might have any of those saw blades again. Still trying to get cheap and bigger saw blades. After what happened to the little one, I'm not spending Hardware store prices.

Sorry to spoil everyone's day but Nick. Here's the latest point tally for our season. Interestingly Lindsay is in contention for second, and possible 1st depending on how many rounds are left, Well done Lindsay. Here they are with corresponding emoticons.......

last time i went they didnt have any but i reckon they would now. when you go in, turn left and go all the way to the side. its a little store with alot of big water pumps on a tarp and he has tons of bearings pulleys and what not there. thats where mine came from.

Glen: 8 pts ... holy crap what a shocking year lol, not to worry, ill just glide into second place no sweat Laughing </not gunna happen>

Thanks for that Glen. WOW! I even get directions. Talk about service. Water pumps you say??? (Ponders napalm spewing robot in MDF funbot class) Twisted Evil I'll probably go there this Sunday see what I can find. What's their deal? You mentioned most of the stuff was second hand?

@Angus: No I wasn't implying that you SHOULD spend more money. But I couldn't really say you need more experience, coz you've had about as much as me.

I remember being your age and building junk on a budget. Mind you it wasn't a robot. I know you have spent a bit, but its always difficult with parents and what not. Parents are always questioning your spending etc. Then when you get older, its your wife. But my wife has grown to accept that I spend more time in the garage with my robot. Anyway having money means you can enjoy it rather than tallying up the cost.

Although I haven't spent that much on the contents of retread, when I add up the workshop of tools I have collected. Scrap material and numerous XU1 spare motors, fan motors etc all lying around. I reckon I would have spent about $300 or $400. Which is astronomical compared to what I would haev spent at your age. Mind you I would have used up all my birthdays and christmas on robots too.
